How terrible that to clear challenging content you need to spend more than 3 attempts on it!

Even 10% echo is already ridiculously powerful. So yes, to quote you, "memorizing the fight & 'get good'" are indeed sufficient answers. The entire experience of someone who would make this thread is probably only TitanX, in which the only thing you need to do is dodge landslide and not get hit by 2 bombs.

Movement speed does nothing for any fight in coil at all, nor will it do anything for someone with bad ping - you'll just be... farther? than you were before on your screen but still dead. Or just finally accept that it probably isn't in fact lag since my static has players from 4 different countries and we kill everything just fine.

Thinking about it more, increasing movement speed won't do anything to help people who have latency issues, because the issue is not in how fast you move but in positional update lag. I used to get hit by Landslides all the time. I'd see the marker come up, I'd run out of the way, the rest of my party would confirm that I was out of the way, and then I'd get knocked off anyway because of the positional update lag between my client and the server. Once I started using a skill immediately after dodging to force the server to update my position, the problem went away-- meaning that I had always been out of the path when I'd dodged, but the server hadn't registered me as being out of the way by the time the Landslide went off. Running faster had nothing to do with the issue at hand.

We should all stop using ping as an excuse, seems like everyones connection gets worse the less they know the fight.

One solution I would like to see.
Remove the time limit on instances,
let the group decide when to call it.

I was going to go into a lengthy explanation about games that are server heavy versus games that are computer heavy and their systems and what steps could be helped by an echo buff and what couldn't, but I like what you said more. Frankly, I've gotten to where I don't care if people who want to be given their wins get better, or even if an echo speed buff gets put in for them. If SE wants to make old fights easier, I'm fine, as long as they just introduce new fights that are harder that don't have the echo so I can have something fun to still do. Old content, honestly, is suppose to be easy, and it really is, so making it even easier for players who struggled with it is like water off a duck's back to me.

This game has extremely limited 'current' content, so playing around with the 'old' content is very much a thing. Destroying that old content because bads want to 1-2-3-win mode without even attaining competence at playing a job is... no. Just no. The SCoB mechanic nerfs are still disgusting.

Beating hard fights makes you a better player. If you don't want to better yourself, well... why are you playing?

I think the problem with that is if the instance server gets full or overloaded, they don't want people to abuse it by afking inside an instance.

That's the fastest speed you can get. In fact, it's the ONLY speed offered by the ONLY ISP who services this area. 90% of the people on here have no idea how bad some of us have it. Monopolies still exist in the U.S. and those of us who love in these areas are subject to the worst service imaginable. It sucks to finally find a game you love only to have it unplayable 60% of the time (especially when you've played MMOs for 12+ years and have never had a problem prior to FFXIV). Even modern MMOs like Tera, Rift, Archeage play flawlessly. FFXIV is the only one that super shakey in gameplay.

With all that, I get a constant 170-200ms to the server.
I play with a constant 230ms and I don't have trouble clearing anything. I play with people who deal with truly 3rd world internet in Indonesia, Philippines and some have to navigate around the great firewall of China. This doesn't hold any of them back they all have t13 on farm, what's holding you back?

Never said it was holding me back.
My point was you can do all you have available to improve your connection, but there are barriers which are simply impassable (distance to the server).
    Here's my daily life:

    I get a 170-200ms doing all the things I listed, If i didn't I could be hitting the 500-600ms.
So the point was, yes ping is a real issue for a lot of ppl and there's just so much you can do to improve it.
