Need to give the Steam Key for players who bought the game before it came on Steam

It would be nice if they can give Steam Key to put your copy of FFXIV ARR that you bought it from other retailers before it came to Steam. I bought this game on release date from over a year ago, until I found out that Steam started selling copies of FFXIV ARR. I would want to add my copy of this game in my Steam library without of any needed to purchase additional copy of it. Like you give the Steam key that you show the proof of your purchase to Steam library. Or anyone planning to do this?
