Starlight event - question to devs

I imagine all the holiday events will run for shorter times with grindier quests to push people to the cash shop now.

Yeah this event started way to late, imho. Should have started earlier in the month.

All my other games I play have had their christmas events going all month...

I wish they'd started it earlier too, I'm heading back to my mum's for the holidays tomorrow and wont have access to the game. So I only get today to enjoy the event T.T

It's not a shorter time though, it ran for exactly the same two weeks last year (18th -> 31st):

Actually... if you make sure to get red, yellow and blue at all times and simply trade them in for 2x greens you will have more then enough!

Just make sure you use the Trees on peoples Home land (Star, moon or sun) and do not use the NPC tree ^_^

The House trees are also marked with the quest indicator so check out your mini map! ^_^

I hate to get too terribly off-topic, but since you mentioned it somewhat. For the event can we use our own trees, both Private and FC houses? Or does it have to be a tree in someone else yard? I haven't tried it out yet in my own (both FC and my house) because I didn't have the trees yet in either. Thanks to anyone who can answer me ^.^

Also a bit irritated that they made Christmas quest hide behind the "dailies" restriction.

What a drag.

Makes you wonder what goes through people's heads when they dream up this stuff. Do they sit there and think of ways to make things un-fun and screw you over?

Its funny that I actually did them twice today. The reset must be late morning here on the east coast US. I did the start of the quest early this morning, did the 3 dailies, then when I logged back in around noonish or so I could do them again.
