well I do actually really enjoy gathering at the moment, so nice and relaxing.

But I think exclusive gathered items and exclusive areas isn't changing the system as Jabo pointed out, its adding to the system thats already there people who liked gathering like me, will still like it because nothing would have changed from adding these features

I wanna fish up some gear, maybe gear that needs to be fixed with x items, but yeah, something you only can get that way :P

there are almost no recipes for siltstone or mahogany to be useful (A mid rank tool and weapon is not exactly in huge demands of +3's) so an exclusive +3 version I would say no I do not think this as exclusive I call exclusive the entire item is exclusive, right down to the base item.

As I mentioned what is exclusive will be the materia catalyst which will be DoL exclusive. I have no idea how broad or rare they will be so will reserve judgement until I gather some.

I know that you need +3 stuff for quality and that certain "+3" items are rare, but it doesn't change the fact that you didn't get what i was talking about and that all the stuff you are writing ever since had nothing to do with my suggestions.

fair enough, i still dont call it exclusive items. since you can get siltstones from uraeus.

and mahogany logs, although not hq i dont think, havnt got anyway from some leves and quests. fishing probably has a few more exclusive items, dont think you get all types of fish from quests and mobs

I was hoping that Botany would be easier in the Twelveswood even if.i had to suffer greenswrath or woodsin. But it feels lesser straight forward right now.

I suppose the catalyst items will be an exclusive gathering item, but I think I see what you mean. Mining a rare Unobtainium Ore, perhaps it even has Unique status. And this item would in turn make a Unique item. Similar to the Vintage gear, but instead of the rotten, battered, blunt item being the rare piece, it's something found from gathering.

Haven't gathered enough to know if there's hidden caches stored in a tree hole, buried under the roots, or tied around a branch high up in the tree. Or if fishers find small chests from sunken ships or some weathered untradable moccasins. Etc.
