    ST Sands and Oils

Need to drop 2 per item from every boss >.> I'm been farming this bitch for days now and haven't gotten a single one. Fuck RNG either increase it so 2sands/2oils drop off each boss, or make the items purchasable at the vendor. This is just stupid.

Sands and Oils are buyable in Revenent's Toll. But that involves getting 2 blood stained hunting logs for oils and 3 for sands which can only be obtained by using the allied guild seals you get from "Hunts".

So you ultimatly have three options. Grind Sycrus Tower (Which you're obviously doing), Grind the Second Coil of Bahamute (Assuming you've beten T5, which if you have Honesty Post Echo T7 is a total joke and easy as hell to farm), or do hunts for days to earn enough seals to buy ONE of the time items you want. (And there's a reason people farm ST and T7 rather than that)

They can be purchased with Allied Seals.

Or you can just do Second Coil.

    Thanks for the info!

The blood stained mark books are also random drops from hunts as well. More likely from S Ranks than A ranks. Don't think they drop from B ranks at all. Pre 2.4 Hunts were the best way to get Sands and Oils. Now T8 is I reckon.

Considering how easy it is to get sands and oils from Second Coil, I'm kind of mystified as to why a much longer run (Syrcus Tower) gives so few. Thanks, I guess, SE.

Nice way to keep everybody happy with the 'unlocked' loot raid drops:
    (UaT's and standard gear excluded)
    - Limit one sand and oil per player inventory.
    - Said player(s) need to actually use said item before having the ability to roll need on another one.

Too bad for hoarders and those who don't actually need the stuff. As a Poetic/ i110 tank main who doesn't need any sands and oils, I'll only roll need when I'm playing a class which could use them for the gear upgrade.

Then why was the weekly cap removed at all by that logic? There are three diffrent ways to get sands and oils but the easyer content tends to be the slowest. ST is middle rank, not too slow and not to hard. Hunts are the slowest but by far easyest (Any noob freash into his relic can farm B ranks every week for months), and Second COil is the most dificult of the three but also the fastest to compensate for the dificulty. I swear some times I think there is a teir below casual (Which I am the poster boy of casual solo players) that would just have high level gear passed out for free every time you did the manderville.

Are you using 'Need' or 'Greed'? This was my problem when I started. I was using Greed. Then I decided that I wanted just to oil to start so I would 'Need' on that till I got it, after which I would skip the first oil and just 'Need' on the entire last lot.

It's a 3/8 chance if everyone needs so it shouldn't be too bad. You miss the other oil. You could also try 'Need'ing the oil and if you fail you still have the option to 'Need' on the last three. It worked really well for me, only took me a few days to get all my peices capped up for Nin.

    Hope that helps
