UI from one toon to the next

Hello, another question for the noob. I am trying out multiple characters to see what I like.

Every time I start a new character I have to set up my hot bars and key binding to the way I like all over again. . .I am very particular.

Is there a way to import a previous toon's layout so I don't have to re do everything whenever I start a new toon?

Not that I'm aware of, however, if there is I want to know since my alts are on a more default setting atm because I dont want to go through them all to fix it.

FFXIV is a bit different than most MMOs because it's setup to be one character that does it all.

Most players have alts for RP, using them for storage is kinda hard.

Credit to reddit poster. Note this is only possible on pc (you can actually do it on ps# also, but you need to remove your drive and slave it to a pc to do so. Folders are in different locations doing that, but same concept.)

Hmmm... seems like this is probably against TOS though, now that I look at it more thoroughly. Would be nice to have something like this coded into the game though for those who have/like to play alts.

This is the equivolent of changing the ffxiv.config file so ps4 controllers work natively on pcs. SE cannot legally deploy functioning DirectX control schemes due to licencing, however as the end user you may map any button to send any command input you want. (This is not the same as setting up a program that sends command inputs on its own ie bots.)

This does edge twards dangerous territory as you stated though, example of disabling the unskipable cs when logging a new character in the first time is a tos violation.

If I can find it I will post, the reason why both these qol functions are not already there, is they would exceed Sony's memory block size restrictions per game quickly, which they already have a special agreement to exceed to an extent. (Note this is an issue with Sony corporate policy limitations, not the equipment itself.)

The ability (on any type of platform) to be able to save UI layouts and then load from those saves has been frequently asked for, both by people (like you and I) who create multiple alts and don't like having to re-do the UI for each of them individually, and by people who want a different setup for different activities (like separate PvP and PvE layouts, or a different layout for gathering than for combat). I keep hoping SE will eventually add this, but so far they haven't.

I believe Yoshi did get asked this at one point. I'm guessing the response is "well look into it[tm]" or "look forward to it, hai[tm]".

Though I think at most as that each gearset has it's own UI layout.
