But do the Golems have to eat the meteors or do we avoid this?
Since Mr Happy doesn't really explain if they have to or do we have to avoid them from eating them?

Not one person here has answered OP's question. The meteors have to be consumed by the golems otherwise they explode, killing everyone in the party. A golem can eat a maximum of 3 meteors before becoming a "Super" Golem.

There is a bit of a delay (while there is a purple tether between the golem and meteor) before it actually becomes super, so it is possible to feed a 4th meteor when the golem is low hp and quickly kill it before the transformation happens.

Not saying that it should have to come to that if the group is doing things correctly though. lol
