Not the tank's job to manage regen. -heavy hint- Healer -heavy hint-I prefer tanks to move fast. The only bad things that can happen with this tanking is if the tank is an idiot and doesn't take regen or medica off from the last fight and face pulls a massive group >.>.
I've had some good tanks that pull a lot and know when they don't have aggro though. Just so many bad tanks going in to roulette for the daily gil bonus.
No its everyone's job to understand how as many parts of the game as they can to function optimally.
If a tank can understand his groups gear limitations, predict skill levels based on previous pulls, and manage a rogue regen or an accidental/troll pull, they should strive for it, and strive to clear the dungeon as fast as they can. All while balancing the speed and size of pulls to optimize the risk vs time to clear equation. Why would you strive to do anything less? What is the enjoyment in being mediocre?
The same goes for healers balancing dps/healing, or god forbid if CC became more important do a third task (oh noes).
The same goes for DPS understanding the healers job or the tanks job to improve the groups functioning.
I mean If you want to play the game like a Macy's cashier, doing the bare minimum to get by........ I guess..?

where the hunk did this come from? butt hurt that I called out a mistake that many healer's make?No its everyone's job to understand how as many parts of the game as they can to function optimally.

You need not worry about Staris. She rests among the elitists in the game where they are always right and everyone else is wrong, regardless of the situation. If you tell her the sky is blue, she will tell you, you're wrong. If you tell her humans breathe air she will tell you, you are wrong...

No, I think the problem was that, at least from my point of vew as a tank, the idea of claric shuffleing is a big turn off. Have I seen it work? Yes, but for every 1 I see pull it off there are 100 that fall behind on heals because of claric. So even if you want to throw an Aero of Stone spell now and then, PLEASE leave claric off while you're healing. That split second I need to heal ASAP is usualy DURING the cleric switch and when I need my HP back up by 1-2k imediately that extra second to switch can cause me to die, then the healer eats it, and the DPS soon follow. I honestly wish Summoner could use it (Since they don't really need to heal any way) that way they could stat for Scholar and keep cleric up eternally to get the dammage buff with out the heal nerf mattering. Healers really don't EVER need to go cleric, the little extra DPS that comes from you is not made more significant while that heal neft can kill.

Another good concept to live by is that more damage means you don't need to heal as much either. WHM does good damage as Zedd mentions, why waste utility that exists?
Cleric Dancing is nothing once you get used to it. Holy has good AoE potency, plus stuns to keep the tank from taking more damage. DPS that is always worth it, as long as Regen+Divine Seal is up on tank for super pulls.

My tank the other day forgot to check my Scholar gear, i91. He did a large pull (3 groups) at the beginning of Snowcloak. We wiped. If a tank can understand his groups gear limitations, predict skill levels based on previous pulls, and manage a rogue regen or an accidental/troll pull, they should strive for it, and strive to clear the dungeon as fast as they can. He asked "Was the pull to big?"
I responded with: "Did you die?"
We all laughed, and then adjusted down to 2 groups at a time.
