Not everyone throwing themselves at it is i120. And yes, it probably is "gated" by people who "lack the commitment or desire to raid in further coils" but would just like to get past what's now a year old content, and experience the story too tightly tied to the main plot of ARR.

Coil is completely separate from the main story and is treated as a secret operation that no one is supposed to know about. They did their best to separate it from the main story, and I find it unfortunate they did so as it creates a lack of impetus to clear it unless you played 1.0.

you can have a level of over 9000, but if you can't dodge twisters or divebomb, you will still wipe.

True, but if you can't dodge a DB at this point then thats just all on you. I've cleared when two dps just kept getting pummled by DB lol ...we just raised and kept going

you forget lag and internet connection related issues

No amount of Echo is going to change the fact that two ball- er, meteors touching will instantly kill you, getting touched by Heavensfall will instantly kill you, being too far from Heavensfall will kill you, being hit by bad stuff during Heavensfall will instantly kill you, standing in a supernova will probably eventually kill you, and putting lightning/fire inappropriately on a party will kill everyone, and divebombs....well, those are divebombs.

T9 probably won't see mechanical nerfs for a while, given its sacred status as a 'final encounter' in Second Coil.
