Looking forward of the things to come in the game is fun and exciting. Complaining about the current lack of content is depressing. I constantly dream of a day post 1.20 where Grand Companies are unique and offer multiple raids/quests, a job system is in place, people are raising chocobos.... and SE announces "Expansion! New katana / great sword classes, level cap to 60, Ishgard new city, new story arc, etc" Yea it's far off but thinking about it always makes me want to play some more XIV.

This is unfortunately a pefect example of something already in Eorzea they had better work on before starting an expansion. The rest sounds good though, and I'd definitely love to see a time when the basic game is good enough that they can announce a cap raise, new story, and new classes/jobs, and want to pay $30 or whatever for it. It just seems so far off....
Nothing new under the sun.No Egyptian themed crap no Asian themed bs no mini-Romes or pseudo-Aztecs just really good ORIGINAL designs that SE is known for.
No need to "brainstorm" anything let them hire the people who designed the world for FF VII-XII and let them be creative without referencing the real world any more than they already have.
VII has one of the worst stereotypical "Asian themed bs" towns of any RPG out there. VIII's locales by and large resemble modern real-life cities. X's landscapes are pretty plain.
I'm sure a creative person could take an "Egyptian" theme and turn it into something fantastic, just like VII took a massive industrial city and made it unique, or VIII took the generic "Japanese magic school" and turned it into something a little different. Creativity comes on top of basic cultural and historical concepts, not from thin air.

And to tell you the truth , i dont want to see the same ole stuff, i want SE to add new concepts and ideas and just add that FF spin to it.. Who wants to see the same designs done over and over again?
Also, like it or not, there is always a theme, do you remember the arabian theme of Aht Urghan?

at this point, screw it, just add the damn expansion. who cares. The "theme" will be underwater bikini raiding with the sahagin.
Ishgard and Ala Mhigo are cities on the map that haven't been implemented yet. Maybe those will be cool.
When all else fails, Heck the Bed.


Ala Mhigo has been utterly destroyed by Garlemald. Once we do get access I expect it will be as a field or dungeon type area, either with imperial soldier mobs or random fauna that have found a home there since the Empire left.
There's another city on the map too, Sharlayan, which is where the main story NPCs for each city-state come from.
