More than 451 Craft / 407 Control - Do you need it?

I'm gearing up my 8 crafts to be 4 star.

Now I'm wondering what sweet spot it is for Craftsmanship and Control.

Is there a use to having Craftsmanship of 452 to ??? whatever max there is?
Is there a use to having Control of 408 to ??? whatever max there is?

It'd allow me to better plan my offhand melds, skipping Control if there's no point, and adding enough craftsmanship or slightly more to hit whatever the sweet spot is~

And to have 398 CP with HQ bouillabaisse of course.

Stouter made this post in another thread in regards to craftsmanship on a 4 star recipe. I believe he said somewhere that around 455 is the actual sweet spot to lose that INGII.

    457 - PbP > 2xRS + 2xCSII

I'm fairly certain 452 craftsmanship allows you to do PbP, 2x RS + 2x CSII.

455 was just a guess; 451 is a no, 457 is a yes, so somewhere in between. Another way without rapid synthesis is 2x PbP, CSII, INGII+3xCSII I think. It's far from necessary, but it does open up another option.

As far as control, no real reason to go past 407 currently, it would take a ton of it to make any real difference.

So 407 control means I could get 2 artisan pieces to go up to 406 and my offhands would be melded with +6 craft +5 craft +5 craft +3 CP +1 control~ 452 crafts / 407 cont / 398 cp with hq bouil

That's what I do and prefer it to relying on rng.

Hmmm... I tried a reputable crafting simulator, www.ffxivcrafter.com, and have discovered that 454 Craftsmanship seems to be that magic number you're looking for with the rotation you mentioned (PbP > RSx2 > CS2x2). I don't know where 455 and 457 are coming from, since they seem to be overkill. It also doesn't seem to make a difference with lower difficulty synths.

Also, this whole "407 Control" business has me confused. If you meld your gear properly, then you end up with 409 Control (assuming you put NONE on your offhand, and aren't using Control food)... so why am I seeing 407?

Do any of you actually test your numbers? 453 is the absolute minimum for PbP + RSx2 + CS2x2 and you will finish with a total of 587/586 progress points (1 point over). 452 puts you at 585 (1 pont under). I've been running 453 since day one of 2.4.

Be careful with the crafting simulator and 4* and some 3* recipes. People have mentioned that its innaccurate but the author is working on it.

Ok thanks! I guess I'll wait it out a bit then, it may be that Lyrinn is right and it's 453 that's needed. I could probably try testing these myself on a few recipes by using different foods/gear to reach the appropriate numbers, but the synths are hella-expensive and I'm not so sure about blowing away those materials on "tests" lol
