    Fact of the matter is that the ability is annoying and serves no purpose other than frustration. You aren't going to die, you aren't more likely to die, and all that's going to happen is you're going to miss a FATE you wanna do and piss you off just that much more. It's grind for the sake of grind. I know people hate it when WoW is mentioned, but a similar ability was in place for a long time until the devs removed it. They agreed how pointless the ability was when mobs casted it.

    i can tell you the purpose.. the purpose is that you actually deal with mobs in the openworld.. and when its too hard not run into monsters its definatley your problem and lack of attention..


    openworld monsters already became trash mobs... in 1.0. they were much harder.
    Plus there are many abillities that can "disturb" you... paralyze, slow, blind, silence, ranged attacks etc..

    Hell do you know how many times ice elementals get on my nerves in some of the leves?


    Then we could end up cutting out all abillities from the game as well.. because they "frustrate".

    Who needs aggressive mobs in the openworld anyways? because openworld content is "pointless" anyways for you?!
    sorry, but you guys get on my nerves.

    Yoshi P. said about the openworld mobs, that he wants them to be "trash mobs" because thats the way people want it to be... and thats why there are dungeons for etc. which i think also is kind of sucky..

    Ignoring what's actually being said in the thread and following it up with a slippery slope fallacy is not going to impress people. People are complaining that heavy is a completely ineffective way to make people deal with open world mobs. This is especially true once a player acquires high ilvl gear, but it's also noticeable as a fresh 50. Many of the people in this thread asking to do away with heavy are suggesting alternatives, not just asking for it to be removed with no replacement.

    This is not 1.0 and never will be again so why even bring it up? It was a failure and the vast majority of systems that made it a failure were removed. Why hold onto a archaic mechanic? Other games simply remove this because it interferes with fun, ya know, what a game is supposed to be about. Why force people into dealing with the mobs? They drop trash and no gil....you actually have a net loss when dealing with them compared to avoiding them. Secondly, some mobs you just can't avoid or have 360 perception. It isn't needed and is simply there to be an annoyance. Oh no, I'm slowed and might take a few hundred hp dmg before my health auto refills anyway.

    Get rid of it. Trash mobs shouldn't be casting that anyway, leave it to hunts, etc.

    yes and many people find it a dumb idea of some dumb people who are unable to avoid monsters if they dont want to get attacked?!!

    and be honest... as if you get "heavy" effects all day long in this game... dont be a clown, seriously..

    oh god... dumb down the game even more. its people like you why we have openworld trash mobs..


    and yea... you can rush through the beastmen tribe outposts without any harm... to the primals crystals... if you dont get hindered by any monster skills.


    and you know for me a RPG is about openworld also.. sad enough that they destroyed it mostly now.. secondly a rpg is for me that there are different styles of skills..

    such as snare dds, dds, sleep, root, stun, paralyze and crowd control.



    and why is paralyze much less pointless than a snare effect (heavy)? it disturbs you also right?! so why not removing ALL monster skills... or no.. lets remove all openworld monsters.. then you want be "disturbed" anymore... from moving from one FATE to an other :ugly:
    and then we have a much more dumbed down openworld which we already have.

    you people make me actually sick. if something is slightly uncomfortable it has to be removed. I really hope that the dev team wont listen to you people, EVER. a game should be played how the dev team wants it to be... and not the players..

    and you guys mentioned WoW as an example... is WoW really that what FF14 should aim for in many points?...
    avoid monsters (and by the way not all have a heavy skill...).. and you want ever have a problem. end of discussion.

    or just dont leave the cities.
