I vote, instead of heavy, you get dismounted and face-plant into the ground leaving you with 1hp

Reduce heavy to 25% instead of 50% and make it dismount you on hit. Bam, done.

video games are bad
I'd be happy if they simply made it unable to refresh the entire duration of the debuff if you keep getting hit.
Actually there is a reason. Your character is only level 50. Your gear makes you the equivalent of a level 110 character . But besides that his cast only has a chance to land on you , Dm rolls the 20d and mob Has a 1 in 20 chance it lands vs a lvl 50 character regardless of gear level. How man mobs do you run through that cast on you and they miss? . Add to that you can go go attack any S rank hunt mob alone and they will swat you down like a bug..but guess what ? You are still free to tryand the mobs don't know the differance of a lvl 50 character in all crap gear that would die in sylph land with a bunch of mobs agro on them with heavy verses your geared out toon. The thing about your fancy gear is it does let you shrug it off like it's just an annoyance. the same as it lets you speed run dungeons that a group in craps gear would get wreaked in.
Which is exactly what makes the mount-heavy effect just pointless and annoying. Haven't you been keeping up with this conversation?FFXIV ARR openworld mobs became already trash mobs more or less in comparison to 1.0. version.
Not that many, really. Try riding through Sapsa on a mount 20 times and it wouldn't surprise me all that much if you weren't even able to make it through once without being heavied and you'll probably be cursing Water Cannon's existence by the end. Your ilvl doesn't matter, and your odds of being heavied are a hell of a lot higher than 1 in 20.Actually there is a reason. Your character is only level 50. I just remember when things like Treants were something you actually worried about engaging instead of finding level 5 ones outside the starting zone. The bigger monsters used to have that imposing force behind them.
.

How many mobs cast in you and Miss? I bet it\\\\'s more than half. But you don\\\\'t even notice those. Your free to go and attack a S rank mob alone. It will swat you down, but your still free to tryand your fancy gear lets you speed run dungeons that would wreak a group that barely makes the requirements and it also allows*you to shrug off heavy as annoying, thats your rewards for getting the good stuff. Your reward isn\\'t "I\\'m well geared now so scrub mobs should just step off" get over your well geared self
heavy is fine. Instead of thinking of it as slow , think of it as making you strut so all the mobs can revel in your ilvl110 swagnificent\\'s

Just because you have a well geared toon now doesnt mean they have to remove something thats a slight annoyance to you.It means its a slight annoyance to you because your well geared(Wont even go into the issues with the backaswards loot system in this game
Sorry for the triple posting, the word count limit said I was over and tried editing/rewriting parts on my phone and it kept taking me back a page and didn't realize they all posted on the following page . Dumb phone, dumb word limit, dumb me![]()
I tried to find a facepalm pic to express my reaction to your post. It does not exist.
Yes, I am level 50, and I expect no exceptions to the normal aggro range. I hate heavy with a passion. I would rather BE DISMOUNTED than get heavy. You've successfully run out of the beastman camp, and you think you're free, so you mount up. NOPE! Some troll mob comes up and hits you once (I'm looking at you, Zanr'ak.). Watch while I strut my stuff in front of a bunch or mobs that could aggro, but look at me and go "screw that, he'll kill us deader than Batman's parents" and invite you to ignore them.
If anything, the heavy timer should be lowered. It's like what, 30 seconds? I could destroy the entirety of the Garlean Empire, find a cure for tempering, battle every primal EX at the same time, or dismount and kill the mob that put heavy on me and their family in that time. Specifically that last one.
So I've killed the mob that put heavy on me in five seconds. I'm still heavied for 25 more seconds and there's not another mob around to attack me. OH NO HEAVY IS PUNISHMENT TO MAKE THE GAME HARDER. No it's not. It's an artifact from a time when danger was a thing. Yes, WoW does the same thing, but theirs isn't near that much time. At minimum, it needs to be lowered to like 10 seconds...if even that long.
Besides, I hate pulling up my ilvl. I'm geared. Congratu-pony-lations. I don't have to strut my gear, especially when it's glamoured.
