Crafting materials in dungeons and the "need" option

So let's see; I want a certain piece of crafted gear for vanity or something. I won't be bothering getting my crafters high just yet so I'm stuck with buy the overpriced item off of the MB or gather my own mats and find a crafter that is willing to craft for free or for a decent tip. And I saved a decent chunk of gil(or used them for mats I can't be arsed to obtain) and made the crafter some gil as well in the process. We all win.

I will at times collect certain mats for either FC mates that can use or need them, friends, or just to have for whatever reason(we have a running potato joke with someone so I grab any dalamud popotos I can hehe)

I absolutely "need" every time. I give the items to my friend who's an officer in my FC. He then makes items for us, himself, or for Gil. It's not like people that need on them with no crafer laugh and then toss them in corner. I'm sorry you feel entitled to them.

asking for crafting materials to be put in treasure chests in dungeons is silly.

you whine because everyone is rolling need on the craft materials, yet you suggest to put them in a treasure chest so it will be given out at a random person without any choice on the matter?

at least with the need/greed system, if someone doesn't give a rat's ass about that craft material, he/she will pass it.
if you put these materials in a chest, next thing it will happen, you'll come to the forum to complain about RNG.

Another option would be to just remove them from the loot tables.

this is not a bug, there is nothing wrong in this content of the game.
you just have to put time in it.
just as you put time in bringing all your crafters to 50 and/or at 4 star craft.
it's not like "ah, I have gained access to 4 star crafts, now I can be lazy and must have everything without effort".

you didn't win the roll? sucks. but who cares. you can just make money with your crafters, go buy materials on the MB/Ixali/Auriana/whatever
and buy them.


your logic of "I have all the crafters at 50 so I should have all the crafting drops" is silly.
go farm dungeons, if you need the crafting material.
you farm dungeons--->you obtain your crafting materials---->you obtain nexus lights.
win/win situation.

What OP want is that mats drop in dungeons get the same rule like gears drop in dungeon.
As an example Saurian Skin is needed by Leatherworker. If now Saurian Skin drop in the dungeon and you are not as a Leatherworker in the dungeon, then you should only can roll greed on it.

You need it to craft items to sell them to get gils.

How do you want to know what exactly I do with these crafting materials? Last time I checked, we didn't know each other and I never mentioned that I'm crafting for profit (which I don't).
