I have all classes at 50, yet the guy next to me deserves a gil drop item (crafting mat) just as much as me, if completing the content. Gil drops such as crafting mats shouldn't be restricted.

Just to throw some extra fuel on the fire...
People brought up the example that tanks can Need on tank gear because, in theory, they need them, right? It's true; I regularly (or used to, anyway) Need lot tank accessories... to level my Goldsmithing desynthesis! Is this an abuse? Maybe. I did it unapologetically and without regret, though. To me, improving my Goldsmith was just as valid a reason for claiming that loot as allowing another person to lot the item to gear up an alt class (or even just trade the item in for GC points).
Materials are the same way. Maybe you can use mats yourself, but that doesn't change the fact that Joe Blackmage over there can sell the mat and use the money earned to improve their own character (or even to buy a mat that THEY can use).
Allowing anyone to lot on mats is fine.
How do you want to know what exactly people do with these crafting materials? Last time I checked, you didn't know all these players and nobody can say they don't give it to FC mates to craft items for them. Or keep these items for themselves, when they'll reach level 50.
You assume much for knowing little.

You addressed me specifically and I answered to that. When you can't even get the context of your OWN QUESTIONS right, then any discussion with you is pointless. How do you want to know what exactly people do with these crafting materials? I love the tags for this thread lol "wah wah wah i'm entitled" "working as intended" "not a bug"
This place actually makes me smile every once in a while.
To OP, yes, please take them off the dungeons, maybe then we can get stuff that we really could use, like the equipment for glam instead of cooking sherry every chest (this happened); but if they don't, you can bet I'm gonna need on every mat that drops and make a profit, your tears are delicious. qq more.
Well in fact I didn't ask you any question but ok ^^
Lol, so true. However worth discussing the principle of it, just in case some dungeon drop mats will be more rare and expensive in future.
In some content this is already the case. I recently sold a piece of Allagan Leather that dropped in Coil of Bahamut Turn 4 for over 300,000 gil. I think it's fair, since the person who bought the leather from me will (probably), make a profit, or be able to craft themselves something cheaper than buying it outright. I ran the content, so it's fair for me to have an equal chance at that gil (i mean mat). I would feel the same about any weaver materials I might need going to someone else who'll sell it. I even tell my own friends to go ahead and roll need in these situations because I know they can use the gil.
I get where you're coming from Andriel (OP), but hopefully you'll see the other side of the argument and feel less cheated on those unlucky rolls. And ultimately, I think trading on the market board is a good thing for the economy - availability of mats to crafters at competitive prices whether they want to run dungeons and do gathering or not. The unfortunate thing is where the mats sell for more than the product, but that's just an indication to look for another item to sell. Unfortunately, there are few items that are high demand and sell for a decent profit (feels that way to me at least). The market players are the ones who get rich, while the crafter makes a meager living. But hey, that's kind of just like real life anyway.
