    paladin relic

I'm probably beating a dead horse here, but I figured I'll ask anyways. I can not for the life of me, think of anything useful to infuse aside from det/critical. I thought about parry, but my possible 130 gear set is already dropping over 200 points off of that stat, considered skill speed, but I'm also dropping that too, and with what I would put on the relic, would place me where I'm at now, with a .05 rediction on gcd. Any other ideas that I can consider?

    If all else fails, Accuracy.

I wouldn't go with Skill Speed as a Paladin. I personally like Parry, but Det/Crit I guess isn't an awful way to go. Expensive, but not bad. Just make sure you reach the accuracy cap needed for the content you plan on doing.

Without knowing the cap, my supposed 130 set went over 30 points over the cap, so I'm good on acc. I definitely can do det/crit, but I kind of want to avoid that build. Parry isn't too great because I'll be dropping so much that I'm still behind if I max it out on the relic

Well, then you have a few options.
Go with a bit of parry anyway to just fill up any space left from grade IV Det/Crit, or do the same thing but with accuracy and assume you'll need more in upcoming content.
But I would say between the two, go with Parry if you're already way over the needed ACC cap, since even the most infinitesimal higher chance to parry is better than going way over the ACC cap. You can't miss less than 0% of the time, after all.
And, I mean, if you feel dissatisfied with it, you can always go back and respec it.
Neither are going to make a huge difference in your ability to tank anyway.

    Spell Speed and Piety!

    Okay, end joke.

It's worth noting that weapon slots typically take the longest to be replaced. This is especially true if you plan on being diligent enough in the Relic Upgrade Progress to reach Excalibur. It is for this reason that it is never remiss to put Accuracy on the Relic. Your weapon is the last thing you want to switch out to meet an Accuracy cap, especially if you can't sidegrade it.

If you aren't terribly interested in the Crit/Det Novus, then Parry is really the only other option. I wouldn't recommend that you worry too much about it anyhow; all Secondary Stats provide approximately the same benefit, mainly not much at all.

Here's a couple of numbers I've scrounged up for the extremes stat wise(this is in respect to the entire gear set, not just the weapon):

A full Parry build will theoretically, for a PLD, confer an over 50% chance to mitigate a physical attack.

A full Crit/Det build will theoretically, for a PLD, confer an additional 7-8% damage dealt over the full Parry build. I did that testing at i115; the ratios will change as other stats do.

A full Skill Speed build will definitely make you run out of TP.

SS doesn't make your run out of TP, long fights do. I'm not recommending SS but there is a big misconception about its TP usage. We are talking 2 GCDs early with a full SS build. Your melee will have issues earlier then you are which will result in a Goad rotation or paeon.

ACC/DET if funds are unlimited. As Donjo said if you plan on taking the relic all the way it will at some point be BiS and you won't want to be swapping it out. Too much ACC isn't a bad thing, too little is. If you can't afford ACC/DET then ACC/DET/CRIT or ACC/DET/Parry work as well just put as much gil into ACC and DET as possible.

Actually, a PLD who goes completely ham without using Shield Swipe once will run out of TP in approximately 2:35 of full uptime(it's easy for this to happen while being an OT), give or take 5 seconds or so. This is faster than melee classes, who all have Invigorate to extend their max full uptime to about 4 minutes or so. Diligently using Shield Swipe will naturally extend uptime, but its benefits are variable since it's linked to Block.

Either way, that sentence was meant to be amusing more than anything else. You're right in that it won't decrease full uptime that much, but Skill Speed still differs from the other Secondary Stats in that being out of TP completely removes its benefit to your damage.

I think we are saying the same thing. Its 2:35 in a normal build and 2:30 in a SS build. (aprox 2 GCDs) With that said its rare to have TP problems on PLD and I use ~430 SS.

I was arguing your point of "melee will have issues earlier than you do [with TP]" by stating that we'll run out of TP a minute and a half faster than TP using DPS if uptime is established for that long.
