Sounds Stops, Enemies Disappear, Crash to Desktop Shortly After

Hi, I've suddenly started experiencing a technical issue that does not seem to be a game bug but something specific only to me.

My sound will suddenly stop, if I am on a chocobo the chocobo will disappear. If I dismount and remount the chocobo will still not show up. The NPC enemies will all disappear and I will be able to move only a short distance before hitting a wall. After a few minutes, the game crashes to the desktop but it is NOT a 90K.

Throughout all this, I can keep chatting with people. I see shout and FC chat and can communicate back and forth. It is my gameplay that suddenly changes.

Earlier after one of these episodes when I would log into Southern Thanalan I would be zoomed into a piece of landscape - water, rocks, grass - and nothing would work. My UI looked normal, but I could not pull up any menus or UI windows. I would crash after one or two minutes. Eventually I was able to get Return to work and ended up in Ul'dah, unstuck.

However I am still having the same issue where randomly certain aspects of the game stop working and then I crash. But I am still on the server, because I can talk to people. Any help would be appreciated.

It may be something to do with your video card. Could try reloading its drivers. Possibly re-rack the card in the computer. Remove the card and reinstall it. Its a couple long shots but easy to try.

I just did a search for the error I'm getting (2)(45d) the most often when I crash and it looks like its related to corrupted files. So I'm going to try a clean re-install of the game in an attempt to fix it.

I play on a laptop, so I can't really mess with the video card physically. As far as the drivers go those have not changed that I am aware of but I will look into it. It's a really strange sort of problem, it just happened again right after I teleported to Southern Thanalan...

Windows had a recent update. It seems sometimes when windows updates then some people have issues, not that this helps, just an fyi.

It definately sounds like connection issues, low bandwith and or large lag spikes.
There are various ways to check the speed, ping and stability of your internet connection.
You should look it up.
