Audio Equalizer on screen!

Hello there, since the title sounds (and this is not an euphemism!) weird, here I post a screenshot:



As you can see on the left and right side of the screen I can actually see the audio that is playing currently in game! (This glitch gets worse when there are more sounds)

Removing my headset or turning all the volume to 0 has removed this strange glitch, but.. I'm not able to hear any sound or music in game obviously!

This is my computer and specs:
Toshiba Qosmio x770 (Laptop)
- Cpu: Intel Core i7-2670QM 2.20Ghz
- Ram: 8GB DDR3
- GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 560M

My Headset is:
SteelSeries Diablo 3 Headset

I've updated my laptop to Windows 8.1 and all the drivers and programs (relative to my headset and hardware in general) are updated too.

Can anyone help me?

It's a feature that was introduced a couple patches back. You can disable within the game under System Configuration, bottom tab.

press your menu button, there are two menus, one is called system configuration, the other is called character configuration.

You want system configuration menu. in the bottom tab in system configuration there It's a box you can click on or select, its called on screen visualisations for on screen sounds.

this is not a bug.

I'm on my phone so i can not offer a screen shot.

you can also Google "on screen visual sound ffxiv" and I'm sure you will find a result which tells you how to turn it off.

i think your first language is not English, because Demeos' answer was real and valid. it was almost rude to say their answer wasn't real.

your game is not bugged. please try Google.

they really should default this to off or something. so many people get confused by it and think something is wrong.

Lol really... i've found it!
I Apologize with Demeos but i actually thought this was a bug!
Really, i'm really sorry Demeos

The button is "Accessibility Settings" and is actually the last one at the bottom of "System Configurations"
Inside this settings you can enable (and to me it was enabled, don't know why!) and disable this switch "Enable visual alerts"

if Visual alerts are enabled you get this weird behaviour..
