    New buyer situation.

I need some accurate information. I have a Steam-trial version of the game. A pair of friends of mine have the full version purchased through Steam. It came to our attention afterwards that the website shop has the game available for 10Base/18CE USD.

Question 1. Can one of my friends give me a referral code before I buy the game and have it count properly.

Question 2. Can I buy one of the SE-sold copies and apply the code through steam and link it to my trial account?

Edit: I'd really appreciate some answers quickly. this is a bit time-sensitive for me.

I'm 95% sure that you can't apply a SE version to a steam version.
However, you still have to do stuff through the Mogstation, so I'm assuming they can generate a code, or you can pull one from the cpl code forum posts, and then apply the code in mogstation, then the steam one (as I'm pretty sure the steam game will give you your product key to register into the Mogstation.

ps, perhaps change your title to something ie Steam and RFcode Question.... might get someone who can be more sure. Good Luck!
