Relics; If grinding must persist moving forward.

I commend the new relic quests for having several visible and tangible numerical values for players to work towards (Gil/Tomes) but you (the developers) have persisted in maintaining random unknowable drops involved in the Zodiac Relic quest. Could we (in the future) please have more tangible points of reference to build on or could you please implement a system in which items that are subject to random drops (such as the Relic Dungeon Items) accrue an increased drop chance for every successful completion of said dungeon or piece of content? This compounding "buff" would continue until the drop chance was ~99+% this would allow you, as developers, to give players an idea our "goal" number or range of runs required to obtain a given item rather than a unknowable grind where our experience/investment varys greatly depending on our luck of the draw.

Additionally it could possibly alleviate or decrease the urgency of clearing the dungeon quickly (speed running) allowing newer players to learn and fostering a less hostile environment.

It is understood that the Relic quest is an achievement; though these weapons are not necessarily on par with the current tier of Raid weapons - they are however exceedingly popular with players that do not raid or those who have ill luck with random weapon drops - but this puts huge pressure on players to progress quickly or otherwise lose out on attempting content while in it's full form i.e/ within your set patch time frames or otherwise fall behind.

Please consider this as well; Relics are the epic weapons of Eorzea with history and lore tied to them - lore that has been rather neglected or unmentioned for several patches. We no longer seem to be delving into what the weapon we've been recreating was, nor learning more about who used it, or how it effected or even directed the history of Eorzea at all and this is rather disappointing.

I sincerely hope that we will see a little more lore and polish from these quests next time!

You can do these objectives as any class as any level (such as leveling another class in DD) which is already a huge step up from comparing to Atma (where you had to use a zenith weapon and could not level another class). Granted some people have unlucky streaks (me included, getting upwards of 10+ run for AV), but its more or less an even ratio of the two that leaves me to believe that the droprate is far more reasonable this time around.

    > Players create the hostile environment, not the objectives. I've had non-relic players give me trouble for not pulling every mob in the first room of AV or letting the seeds hatch (when the other dps/healer is actually killing them). Not pointing fingers, but what I'm getting at is that this goes both ways and doesn;t necessarily mean it's the relic players causing the hostility.

    > As for as the aesthetics and concept behind the new weapons, I really like the steps, but I really, really dislike the end result. All of the weapons look nearly identical to each other in design and have lost individuality. There's no history behind these new weapons (which is a reoccurring problem for the entire quest in general, excluding the initial relic step), just "oh, there's a stronger weapon and we need to use different methods!" The vanilla relics had some nice designs to it; Stardust rod had the glowing orb, Artemis Bow was an actual harp (despite us not being able to actually use it as a harp...), Yoshimitsu is the only pair of ninjatos I can name off the top of my head (which fits the concept of a ninja very well), which gets replaced by an oversized dagger that shares the same design scheme as the other weapons. Based on the look of the weapons for the most part, it just doesn't fit for them to have that job-only tag on them because there's absolutely no reason an archer/rogue cannot use a typical bow/dagger (opposed to a compound holding harp/pair of ninjatos).

I agree. At least make the weapon change forms or looks as you progress the relic weapon. I mean i was late starting the quest compared to others, and I was tempted not to do it because there were better weapons available. Relic weapons for all the hard work should be better than primal weapons when upgraded to highest upgrade for that patch.
