By the time it's gone to testing and been released, it'll be long past Christmas and well into the new year. If it's not being released as part of this year's Starlight celebration they'll have to work on it for next year. But yes, a tree would be nice for Christmas 2015.

Well considering, on that page, it lists the vendor that sells them and for how much, I don't see why they wouldn't be in the game.

I don't remember, but do items purchased through vendors or from tokens get listed on the event pages normally? Because that could be why. They are not quest rewards, you probably have to do some FATE to get the items needed to trade in for them.

Now that you mention it, I don't remember if the bomb lamp, lanterns, fruit tub, or bamboo tree were listed in the summer event b/c they were just vendor furnishings...

Actually just looked it up, and no it didn't advertise the furnishings on the event page from the vendors.

I think they do;

The Eerie Barding from the harvest festival was purchased with items dropped from a FATE and it's is listed here.

Edit: Well I guess vendor furniture is different based on the above... Though the dats indicate that the trees come from trading in event items, odd...

They are still outdoor items, so even if those trees are released, they still aren't proper christmas trees.

I know it's too late for this year, but please have an indoor Christmas tree next year! Stocking wall mounts wound be nice too.
