I personally am doing spell speed and piety I mean if you look at t5s and t9s whm wep. That's the build they have, coincidence? I dunno. But you wouldn't go thru all that trouble to clear a raid that will award you with a shitty Weapon (I know they have half an item level higher but still) so that's the path I chose since I'll never see myself step in that place xD. Also that just means I get to just make one food

Woops clicked post too soon I was saying make one food only to benefit both healer and caster DPS since I don't need the extra piety or spell speed food freeing up inv space so it really depends on playstyle/Preference. I'm never sittin still so I notice the effect of spsp a lot when I try switching to yagrush (though minimal but Is there) little things like that. I could do Det/spsp but them SMIV are ridiculous

Sadly some of the end game weapons are pretty poor, like the Dreadwyrm Grimour for smn right now has 37 spellspeed on it.......so thats 37 dead stat points on it . With whm its pretty difficult to do the novus "wrong", unless you spec it with parry, skill speet et al. The secondaries for whm give a lot more room for player choice than some other novus do. Piety and det are strong contenders, but so are crit and spell speed for those who like those stats .

Sadly this is where theory crafting and reality collide with classes like smn. Fester is off the GCD, so spellspeed wouldn't really make a difference iirc. It doesnt effect dots, so the same thing happens with whm and spellspeed not effecting HoT's, so it leaves ruin spells being the only thing that really benefit from spell speed on smn. Anyway, not trying to derail the OT, but just goes to show that the end game raid reward weapons can be a little on the pants side .

Spellspeed on whm is really something you have to stack to high heavens to get the benefit from, but it can be a good stat and there are end game whm who like it. Det and pie seem to be the most common combination of stats on Nirvana, with extra piety being a god send for learning new content, whilst det increases your base heals in a consistent manner. Crit increases heals, but it is not in a consistent manner, but is delicious with HoTs. I have spellspeed and piety on my nirvana, but that's mainly due to cost as all the gil has gone into det/crit last resort o.o.

you have basicaly 2 choices if you raid in the higher coils, or want to:

33 PIE/31 DET/11 SS

or

33 PIE/31 DET/11 ACC

Piety and Determination are the most effective stats on whm so far, but they are capped on the weapon. So you have to add something else. some spellspeed, despite dont affecting your HOT's can help you in raid while you have to dodge tons of AoE.

On the other side, with some more accuracy you are more effective when helping out the DPS in certain situations.

OFC you can also completly customize it on your own habits (someone will prefer 44 SS/31 DET for example), but i highly suggest to refrain from melding skillspeed or CP.

Currently working to get WHM Novus. I'm on Atma book 4 (regret doing BRD weapon). I plan to cap Piety, then I'll do Determination until I can't apply any more Tier 3 Materia for it (I have a bunch), then Spell speed the rest of the way.

Except that secondary stats are largely meaningless so far, so any healer good enough to clear T10-13 will be able to do it regardless of what secondaries they melded. The builds you have posted are simply what are considered to be the 'min-maxed' setups.
