The problem with this thread is simply this: Honesty is lacking. I had gone through this entire thing, it took a while for sure, but dishonesty among other things had been plaguing this thread for years. Lots of hurt feelings, and there was even an era of creepiness.

I had a profile here. I liked the idea of marrying my bunbun to another bunbun, but I was too specific and therefore I just gave up.

Yes. There was also a website where someone tried to keep track of all the profiles posted. I did the same thing for that friendship thread too and that one is overshadowed by this thread.

The saddest thing is you get a glimpse of just how many have stopped playing the game.

Yeah, I saw the OP edited their post to reveal that someone used their Wikipedia account’s personal sandbox to keep track of all the official posts that were made. When I click on the link now, it says that it hasn’t been edited in four years, and is blank. Understandable, considering how enormous this thread has gotten.

I’ve seen the friendship thread as well. Personally I think it’s good that a separate EB thread was made for just friends too.

I’ve never seen the “official“ discord for this thread. I know that several people have supposedly made their own version of it (including the shady one, unfortunately).

But anyways, the fact that you read every single post on every single page of this thread is.........commendable. I can only imagine the time, patience, and dedication required to carry out such an undertaking. Huge props to you!

Out of curiosity, how long did it take?

It took something like..3 weeks. I'd bookmark pages I where I left off. I went only up to the end of 2018 for obvious reasons.

Yeah, I have to admit MMOs aren't going to keep people around forever, though some may just be maining under different characters than what they posted on. But it's why if you're looking for something serious, be prepared to have other interests outside ff14 too! Can imagine how hard it is to keep track of all those names and if/if they don't have a partner. ^^
