Anyhow, speaking of server transfers, how's the activity and community on Balmung? I've had mixed experience with Odin where some days are pretty active with people shouting everywhere, and other days it just feels dead.
I have heard quite a few things about it (and not just the congestion lol), so I was interested in looking around there. Of course it's not easy to get there outside of a transfer, so I'd like to hear some opinions before throwing my money to SE.

I think what Dekal said is spot on, but I also want to point out it might depend on where you're coming from too. I started on Zalera, which was a mixed bag (like most servers). There were some incredibly kind people there. But being a low pop server meant very rampant RMT. Plus the RP community, while it existed, was segregated into only small groups that kept super private. Not saying Balmung doesn't also have that, but I could tell within the first few hours after transfer that Balmung was just more...chill.

Zalera was like the wild west: you had good mature people willing to help with content. But there's also a greater disparity in those who will commit to the game and those who will easily ditch. Even at full capacity it felt very dead because no one really enjoyed hanging out in any of the towns. Well, Mor Dhona and now probably Ishgard has more people. But no one flat out talks to each other except shout chat...which...got interesting XD

Balmung feels more like a stable town where an "event" can be organized almost spontaneously. That and zero RMT or as close to zero as you can get. I was so shocked to see Ul'dah's market street utterly packed with people talking and crafting because on Zalera you'd see maybe...5 at peak time and then two bots that would rotate. Balmung just feels more comfortable in not constantly chasing the next carrot. There's people that enjoy the downtime. At least that's how it feels to me.

So really I would closely examine as to why your server feels off for you before you transfer. If anything people say about Balmung sounds extremely different to what you experience at home, then perhaps a transfer is in order. But if the good things don't sound so different, then perhaps it's more who you're playing with than the server itself.

But you have to keep in mind that some of those ppl don't want to EB, other group already EB someone before this thread or found someone from the thread, I think 1 transfered to Odin. Another thing to add is that I spoke with some of them to check if they really want to EB and in the beginning sounds like they did and had many suitors, but ended up not EBing anyone. I'm the beginning it was ppl from other servers making friends to EB

My POV:
Balmung is pretty busy during the afternoon to evening ( around 1 pm til 10 -11 pm PST). You see a lot of players there on the new maps and in PF from 7 to 32 ads/parties looking for people ( it ll increase and decrease according tho the numbers I gave)

Now if you want to know how easy is to make friends. That will depend in your social skills and other people. Somepeople don't really communicate that much thru LS/FC chat but prefer PMS (tells) and others prefer vice versa. There are ppl shouting when there are bosses S/A/B ranks and you can ask for hunt LS which ll always be telling you where the bosses are spawing.

During the morning it is very quiet. The queues in DF are slow compared to that time I gave in the beginning. I can't tell you how good it is after 11 pm cuz I am usually offline watching movies lol.
