Well I suppose that may be true I myself tried playing as male character for a bit but it just didn't feel right too me

From my experience, (male) players usually either want to play

- a character that resembles them IRL

- a character that is everything they are not (these tend to be the edgiest wannabe characters)

- or simply a character that is pleasant to look at (usually depends on the player's sexual orientation).

I, for one, couldn't play as a male character for longer periods of time. Staring at a musclehead or some kind of edgy mancat / lizard would be really annoying.

As for the male players playing a female but still wanting a female partner who coincidentally also plays as a female...
Two are better than one, right?
