It depends on the player. Some people say they have two characters in 2-3 servers, but don't mind having one of them main, but when you meet them it sounds the opposite.

I made alts in other servers to talk to people. I usually just go and meet ppl with the mentality of "I I'll get to know them and be friends". First impressions have a huge impact. Some people that said they would transfer then give an indirect reply with " nah, I won't. I said that out of the blue" or " no, I don't really want to do it." I met other ppl who said they wouldn't transfer but after talking for days, they show an interest and then change their opinion.

So just make an alt and see how things go.

at first, way before i met my fiance, now my beautifull wife, i wasnt willing to transfer, but for that, after spending time with them on a alt character and leveling those characters a bit, i chose to transfer my main to bond with them.
