Holiday Themed Weapon Skins

So I'm completey surprised that the only time we have ever really seen weapon skins was with the FFXIII event, and I thought it would be amazing if they started doing this more often, particularly with the different holiday events.

Every holiday they release costumes and things to play with, usually something unique each year, but the one thing that they tend to lack is a weapon to go with the costume. So how cool would it be if this year while dressed up as Mr. or Ms. Clause (or a Reindeer) you could get a glamour for your weapon, such as a candy cane for Black Mages, a sprig of Holly for White Mages, a christmas tree sword and sled shield for Paladin, presents for Monks, a north pole sign for Warriors, and so on!

How is this not already a thing SE?! Make it happen, if not this year than next!

Please don't start this argument, it will go on for 50 pages and go nowhere.

I think more vanity weapons would be great. The Lightning Returns event had them and they were actually decent lvl 15 weapons, so I don't see why more of that would be a bad thing. Maybe they feel like it's a bit tacky? Or doesn't really fit within the lore? Not sure. But it'd be cool to see more of that with the events, along with the costumes and etc.

Doubt this would be a reason, considering it's well within the theme of the usual costumes and such that they give out during the holidays.

I actually don't mind the cash that much as people will always have an opinion on spending money when they don't want to. The only gripe I have is how SE seems to have forgotten that they are a game developer and switched into the mentality of a business firm, and a very aggressive one too.

Instead of asking questions like "Is this game play intuitive?" or "Will our servers with stand the load of gamer's during peak times?", they ask questions like "how much can we make off this vanity item?" or "We must try to appeal to the majority of demographics without having to spend too much. How do we achieve this?".

A Gane developer would see themed events as a way of executing some really neat ideas like candy cane weapons but a business would see this as copy and paste event that requires the basic formula of "do this, do that, fate here, fate that" to save costs for other things that may or may not be used for the game itself but for other projects. I probably sound frustrated, which I am a bit, but anyone who remembers SE as Squaresoft and Enix as two separate entities knows what they are capable of and how they can effectively combine Game development and standard business practices cohesively.

... *ahem* I mean, some Eorzean wreath's would be nice to put over our doors.
