The bug has been submitted many times though. Many with over-the-top amounts of information. One would hope not, but that's not really the issue here, random posts on a public forum make for horrible documentation. In a development project this large, proper documentation is the difference between something getting noticed and done in 10 minutes and something getting lost in the shuffle and never getting done.
Thank you for looking into this. I have resubmitted the bug report with detailed testing steps as well as all the various model numbers I was too lazy to look up originally. Let me know if anything more is needed.
Also, in conducting my testing for this second report, I have discovered the base range of Embrace is only 25y instead of 30 and that the auto-casting is 20-21y. In my original test, I had assumed Embrace had a range of 30y and that only the auto-casting range was off.

I have made a big discovery. Since I am rewriting my bug report, I went back to test (so I could document the test). I did it a little differently and wanted to settle the discrepancy of previous test results between 20 and 25.
In my original test, I had measured the difference between casting range and auto casting range at 5y, subtracted from 30, and come up with 25. Turns out the problem was that I assumed the 30y regular casting range was correct.
Embrace only has a range of 25y, and auto-casting happens within 20-21y. I will post my test methods later, but I consider these results to be very conclusive. For a quick test of the 25y range, try placing your faerie, targeting her, and walking to about max range for physick. Now command her to heal you. She has to move to cast on you.
Bumped. Don't want this falling into the blackhole that is lost threads.
Just putting in a word of thanks for this thread, which I seem to have stumbled upon before I even went looking up this info!
I'm semi-new to healing in games like these. Thus far I can see that it's easy enough to just play whack-a-mole with health bars and debuff cleansing, but proper Faerie management is a finer art indeed.
Would it be broke if Sch's third pet had a rez? Maybe have the Fey rez have a 3 min cooldown.
But it's a mana free rez. Plus if you need to take the lead on heals while your pet is casting rez, because the other healer was killed and you just used swiftcast it can be a real life saver.
You have a point, I just don't want another skill that relies on people screwing up terribly in order to be useful.
In content where deaths are easily recoverable, I either don't have difficulty dishing out rezzes or don't actually need the dead people back up anytime soon; in content where death is punished very harshly, a wipe is often imminent if more than one person is dead at a time (or at all, depending on who died and during which phase). The pet being able to rez is redundant in the first case and probably irrelevant in the second (because everyone is about to die due to stacks given the boss or other mechanic failed by dead people).
exactly this, and it would be a very boring addition to the fairies inventory. You have a point, I just don't want another skill that relies on people screwing up terribly in order to be useful.
