FFVIII - You could train your G.F. to gain abilites, plus training them in battle to gain afinity to summon faster.
FFX - You could practically train and change the whole sphere tablet to modify your stats as you please.
FFX-2 - Training every dressphere to unlock new abilities and training to complete each ability in battle.

I mean "training" automated characters. FFX all the characters are under your full control at all times.

It was nothing about "losing raid spots" It was that your idea was bad as it would totally destroy any need for jobs.

That's because they didn't want to remake all the cross abilities for all the classes to include rogue, it will happen in 3.0 imo.

More specifically, they didn't want to upset the current class balance.

The cross-class system is fraught with "gotchas" as they interlink all the Jobs.
