Do I need Atma?

I never bothered to get the Atma weapons when they came out since I spend all night trying to get a second stone to get and it never did lol, so now my bard's gear is either tomestone of soldiery gear or coil gear with a zenith weapon. To get ready for the expansion I was thinking to get all tomestones of poetics gear for her then since the level cap is being raised I would natually get 61+ level weapons while leveling. I know we don't know everything about the expansion yet, but will I be ok without Atma or am I going to need it?

Really? Why did you even bother to ask? Atmas are super easy to get now and take little time to get. I think someone said the yoshi P said (don't have an actual quote)the zodiac weapons will be the best weapons in the game.
If you are like so many other casuals then don't bother and be mediocre in this game. What you put in is what you will reap from it.

Your kidding right? Relic is not even bis and the current content can be completed without it, many many people have.
Heck people have cleared second coil before soldiery gear and atma weapon even was out
Or are you perhaps one of those players that think gear = skill?

Don't listen to that guy Op, the Relic is not at all needed but if you want to go that route maybe get a soldiery weapon if you do coil and such and upgrade your relic at your own pace, no need to rush it.

I did take a break for a few months so I guess I didn't hear that atma was easier to get. Trying to farm a second atma brought back horrible memories of looking for coffers in FFXI for AF gear lol.

It only got "easier" because people like you. I had no issue with doing lots of fates to try for 1 atma. It just meant more GC seals and closer to my 3k fate achievement, which I have now. You should do some research maybe before crying over a video game. Also, I cannot stress this enough, this is not FFXI or any other MMO. This is FFXIV and some of us die hards have been playing since 1.0 launch.

You must be a joy to be around. Must be one of those "know the fight, show proof or you will be kicked" people that I laugh at and have an empty party in the PF. Person is just asking a simple question. Some people don't have time to do certain things in game or concentrate on other aspects of the game that they like to do. Seriously I wish I don't meet your kind in my server. Don't mind him OP, I personally did atma when it was not nerfed. When i heard it actually was nerfed i went on to do my 2nd atma weap. Play your game, do what you want. Don't let some "die hard whiners" affect you
