Scheduling Eternal Bonding: Please Don't Require Both Players In A Party!

I'm unbelievably frustrated and angry right now. The person I'm bonding with works a late night job and gets out of work at midnight. I work at 7am. The time that we're supposed to both be on with our promised wristlets on the East Coast, in a party together, is 4am.

For three consecutive weeks I have gone to bed at 9pm, set my alarm, stood there at 4 a.m., and the person I'm bonding with has not been online, or forgotten the promise wristlet and left the system on overnight, or fell asleep after a rough day at work being a doctor. We're not trying to get a ceremony at 4am, we're trying to get one at 6pm when we're both awake enough to do one.

There's absolutely no reason why we should be penalized like this every week for working both of our challenging jobs. Please remove the requirement of us both being in a party, there's no reason for it!

If your significant other can't show up on time when you are available, what difference does it make if the restriction was lifted? It sounds like they can't stick to a time where they can be online with you at the same time nor can they force themselves to remember to bring the ring.

If the restriction was lifted, only one of us would have to be on at that ridiculous 4am hour. Then we can schedule our ceremony at 6pm on a weekend when the rest of the country is awake. It makes no sense to force two players to be online, in a party, with items on both, at an hour that is horribly inconvenient for both.

If you and the person your bonding with can't set a simple alarm to be online at a the same time then what does it matter anyway? One or both of you clearly isn't committed. Set a damn alarm and get up, join party and do your thing. If you both aren't willing to do that then why are you bothering with this in the first place?

Don't make excuses about work or sleep I'm sure you both make sacrifices in other parts of your life so I iterate again, if you can't arrange a time to wake up and spend 5 minutes awake and in a party then it doesn't matter.

I think the other people are being very rude. Isn't this a game? Real life work (and sleep) > some game's marriage. SE should either adjust the time per the server type, or make it a rolling time so that the time slot changes every week (ex: week 1: 4am reservation time, week 2: 8am reservation time, week 3:12pm reservation time, etc..and having a skywatcher-type NPC that announces what the next time wil be) thus giving people of different lifestyles better chances of enjoying a part of the game they wish to play. Or,as OP suggested, have it doable with one person. Maybe have it so that the other person has to relinquish that requirement if they're worried people might abuse it if it was a default option.

Not being able to wake up at 4am when one comes home tired from work at midnight is not a lack of commitment; it's a game being inconsiderate of real life.

So many inconsiderate responses :/ I personally had no idea this was the case (That both people have to be around at the same time). The person I'm bonding with lives in an entirely different time zone, and we are already finding it difficult to find a time for the ceremony that suits both of us, let alone actually being there to schedule it. What a pain.

I also agree that the scheduling system is illogical and frankly outrageous, especially for those who paid for gold or platinum.
For starters there's no physical location to fill in the first place; since this is an MMO and everything is digital and 90% of content is instanced, it makes no sense for the developers to restrict this content in such a way.

I would hope the devs have the sense to rectify this rather absurd error in judgement, and i sincerely hope this isn't an omen of things to come for the game. There are enough time walls as it is, I don't bloody need them for leisurely content as well.

I couldn't agree more. If you pay for a Gold or Platinum ceremony you should be able to do the damn thing whenever you want. I don't mind the whole time wall thing regarding character progression and item lockouts because it gives motivation to stay subscribed, but paying for the wedding ceremony only to find no available time slot, possibly forcing you to resubscribe again otherwise you can't show up to your previously paid ceremony is stupid.
