Original Post:
Our options in terms of glamour as a Ninja are extremely limited.
If we want to go for the whole traditional "Ninja" look, we have no choice but to use the Relic chain weapons (Relic/Zenith/Atma/Novus/Nexus).
Aside from that, we have these enormous "daggers" (such as "cleavers") that might as well be swords. If that's not the case, then they are genuinely pretty ugly or strange.
Considering that classes aren't exactly a popular choice at end game, I don't see why we only have 1 style of Katanas, and everything else is some strange looking "dagger".
I suppose this could be said for a few jobs - however NIN's arsenal is somewhat limited in terms of actual Katanas.

I am going to change the topic of this thread a little as this sort of applies to all end-game weapons.
We need more simplistic / traditional weapons in general with a lot less "over the top" designs. I am all for a thematic approach to weapon series (such as primal weapons etc) however I believe that a lot of the newer weapons were designed rather poorly or rushed..
All in all - pretty much all of the weapons seem over-done. I mean it is certainly nice to have some weapons that are over the top (as tastes vary quite a lot) however for those of us that like the more simplistic designs are pretty much out of luck. One exception that came close (in my opinion) was the Soldiery weapons from the previous patch (Liberator, Burtgang etc).
My biggest issue with most of the bladed weapons is that a good portion of them are extremely fat/wide.
Below is an example of concept art for Katanas in FF Tactics (not the Ninja style blades), but I am posting this image as an example.
There are 7 different weapons here, all of which look very different - not because of the whole shape, but more because of the differences in the hilts, with some inscriptions/designs on the blade.
The point of this image is to show how the more traditional styled weapons can look completely different, however maintain that traditional look:
All of these weapons look different, while they still have a fairly simplistic design. They are "tame" and haven't gone completely overboard. This, in my opinion, is a more desirable style then our current options for Swords. There is nothing wrong with over the top designs, however we do need some more traditional styles thrown in the mix.
