Cash Shop: Stifling development.

As a consumer cash shops are a little tricky. Say SE just came out with the standard package you get 3 goodies with that free. I bet ppl would start asking to customize their wedding or giving gifts to those who attend or a special mount for the wedding. Is it simply we as consumers did not get the option to voice our opinion on what we should or should not pay for I'm not sure but I can promise you threads would pop up about extra wedding stuffs ie vial of fantasia. The only other MMO I have played was FFXI and a wedding cost 1 million Gil or more. Gil is not easy to come by for all people so that could have been a deal breaker also. SE knows if ppl are using the cash shop and how much they are making on each item if something isn't making money they will remove those items or atleast won't make variations of those items ie WoW mentioned in earlier post.

P.S. What P2P MMOs offer a free wedding with sub no additional in game transactions? Just curious.

FFXI, they were even hosted by GMs for a long while. Funny how it's also another SE MMO. If anything this shows that the current decision to monetize the game is directorial rather than coming from higher ups, seeing how XI's subs are way lower yet it's still P2P without a cash shop (no, those items someone's going to mention don't count, I know who you are.)

Oh my bad, I didn't read the in game part, I guess no other MMO does it truly for free, but at least XI doesn't involve paid transactions.

They do count and actually offers you an advantage if you didn't buy a collection version of XI. (Boosted everything below level 30.) You also forgot to mention that the "free" version in XI costs a fair bit of gil if you choose to get the outfits and items and are now done by an NPC in game.

Everything comes from a higher up, just like it was a higher up's decision to switch XI's weddings (that people were no longer doing, by the way) to an NPC style rather than waste time and money on actual GMs doing it.
