Usually I just do the pass thru trick for aeolian. Just run thru the target and trigger the move on the back side. So long as it connects on the rear you will get the damage bonus. This doesn't work on very large enemies however as their hit box is too large and they turn before you can get the move off.

Doton should only be used if there are multiple targets who will be alive for the entire duration of the AOE/DOT affect. So if the targets die before halfway thru duration then you are losing potential dps.

Raiton and Katon generally produce more dps in most situations.

Neither Katon or Doton should ever be used on single targets as it is a dps loss.

Trick Attack by running through

This is pretty feasable for Trick Attack as it is an oGCD. Its a tad harder to pull off with AE of course, but not impossible.
To do this with big enemies tho, you have to be inside the enemy hitbox near its central point. then run just barely past its center to its back, also while inside the hitbox.

Hmmm you did crit 13% on ninja vs 20% on dragoon, it's a big difference even taking into account battle litany. I'm quite sure when the parsers are updated and the dust has settled, the difference in dps between monk/nin/drg will be miniscule.

DRG auto-crits multiple times with Life Surge, and yeah Battle Litany. NIN only auto-crits twice a parse. I don't think the crit % has an impact in these results, the numbers seems proper in both cases.

yeah, litany inflates the number a bit, along with life surge. the drg parse ended at 19% crit rate and my drg has higher crit rate stat as well (593 without food)

So pretty much ninja is the strongest burst opener if all melee but the lowest when it comes to sustain? I figured with all the CD drg have they will be first.

I think this will even out in fights with downtime, since Nin is still the least affected by it.

yep. this and their utility (goad, shadewalker, trick attack, smoke) is still there; 3/4 of those are raid dps increases

Have we even done storms eye parsing? i mean, it was like +30 DPS on i130.. what is it now? Thatatters cause in raid you dont need to self apply.

i think the dps increase should be around the same range, roughly 2%ish. +30 from not needed to use DE in 2.x sounds a bit high

I know it'll most likely be a dps loss but I'd like to see how big of a dps loss it is.

Any i190 NINs out there testing on dummies? I think I have a general feel for what most classes put out except NIN (and AST but whatever). NIN's looking so strong right now, with how easy they convert into real fights over almost everyone, and if they're putting out numbers like ARR NIN then look out other melee.

This is definitely true, the amount of flexibility AC allows in our rotation is insane. I can easily be flexible with my rotation and opt to DE/AC during Ravana's "seeing" mechanics and lose minimal dps compared to MNK/DRG. We are also able to get right back in it after downtime because we can precast huton or save a suiton to start with a trick attack right off the bat.

Ninjas i know where going form 670 > 700ish when they got DE fed, but yeah might have been rng, but thats still +30
