1 piece away from an endgame gear set @@ doing 610ish unbuffed no food solo consistently at tp starvation, which is nice

thoughts on delaying 3rd trick attack to have it line up better with BFB/dots? feels pretty selfish delaying TA (and kassatsu) by 20 seconds, but i don't really like the timing of the 3rd TA at all atm. makes the 4th one sort of come up the same time BFB is off too if you adjust the rotation to huton raiton suiton k.raiton ration starting with the 3rd TA

In T12, as a NIN, should I be hitting Bennus? Admittedly I'm a little slack, but I've been ignoring Bennus and letting the other DPS wail on it - so I maintain a 100% uptime on the boss.

Using the opener listed in the guide, Bennus would come out around the time I applied Suiton, and so I just ignore the Bennu and Trick Attack and maintain uptime on the boss instead. If the other Bennus spawn at a convenient enough time in my rotation, I usually throw a DoT on it and let the other DPS finish them off. How are you guys handling pre-Phase 3 Bennus?

Depends. How does your party handle bennus? My static tanks the bennus where they span till 40-50% of its hp then move it to where it needs to be. That way the mnk and I can dps without having to chase the bennus. Once they get low on hp we switch back to the boss. However if my dots are about to fall off while the Bennu is up, I really them first on pheonix and hit AE combo on bennu..

Yeah that's what we're doing too, however I feel like my DPS isn't really needed on Bennus since they still die before the boss gets a tether from them anyway. I find that during the time taken reapplying DoTs on Phoenix, my party usually drops them to below 50% which is when the tanks begin to move them to their spots, so I don't get to DPS it much.

If ranged+OT can take care of it without melee assistance, they should. It's a better use of damage-resistance-down debuffs.

    If not... oh well.

Just wanted to say, as someone who has been looking for a guide/some direction on the subject of "How to Ninja: 101", thanks for making this thread. It's been incredibly helpful in getting a game plan together on how to play this class!

I have a question about Kassatsu, and I apologize if this has been answered (I tried looking it up). I just dinged 50, started working on my rotation and initial burst damage too. Depending on the scenario, and if Kassatsu doesn't line up with a trick attack -> Raiton, should I still use it when it's up, or save it for that scenario? I'm not sure if holding the oGCD that long will end up hurting my dps or not.

Also, I did my first t10 last night! It was so much fun, I'm the static's Bard but we switched around jobs to let me get a feel for Ninja. For adds, do I apply both SF and Mutilate on both the son or daughter, or just keep dots up on the enemy I'm attacking? Thanks guys

That is really confusing but it should be like this

Assume you use a Ninjutsu and then 5 seconds later Kass comes off of CD. what you do is Wait and use another ninjutsu > Gcd > Kass > GCD. In a perfect world it WILL line up with TA but my third kass typically lines up with me using Double Raiton.

This is a very good set and no, 2 Dex are not going to make or brake anything. You could just switch around 2 pieces thugh and get this:

    http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/PO60

I switched unaugmented ring for DW and DW bracelet for augmendetd IW, you gain 2 dex, 2 acc, 37 sks (puts you at 393 which is a very comfortable number, at least for me), while you only lose 37 crit. Det is identical. Math is easy here, in terms of stat weights AND acc this set is superior. You may also consider using flint caviar over catfish which puts you at 534 acc, only one point short of t13 cap and boosts crit by another 21 points.

Took Raiton out of my Rotation for this parse, gained about 20 DPS (could be RNG, I did peak at 1k DPS at the start) - 645 DPS.
