Yeah I've gotten Mutilate a few times as well. +2 PPS on a good run, on par on my worst ones, otherwise they're equal.As I said, there may have been some user error. If it was a clearly superior opener the dot timings would've lined up for significantly greater damage but it was a negligible difference.
Different kind of multiplicative. 100 potency + 27% + 10% + 11% = 155.067 potency if multiplicative (55.067% increase) vs 148 potency if additive (48% increase). I haven't done enough testing to confirm this is how it works (though it seems true), just read many people reporting it as such. Regardless, a Mutilate with xpot + b4b + TA is obviously more damage than mutilate with just b4b + ta but I do think it's possible to get the opening Mutilate in under TA with some good latency.

Am i doing decent enough dps for my ilv? I get around 460 at around 3 minutes depending on lag. I feel this is a bit low though. Tips?

Is 460 dps for a nin with diamond daggers too low?
INT affects all magic damage potency. All elemental damage, including un-aspected damage from the Arcanist line, is considered Magic Damage and is affected by INT. This includes Dragonfire Dive, it's elemental based - But it scales off Weapon Damage and Strength as well. The same goes for all of the Elemental based Ninjitsu's from the NIN.
feel like either way, by the 3rd TA your BFB is gonna start not lining up with TA no matter what you do if you're keeping the order of huton>suiton>raiton
if you move the order to huton>suiton>raiton you end up delaying ta and eventually a possible kassatsu by 20s, probably not worth it
Great info everybody !
Though I have a question.. In terms of suiton, I use Trick Attack for my opener. Should I keep using Trick Attack for the buff against the enemy, OR use Sneak Attack for extra DPS during rotation after the opener? I'm not sure which one would be more important in which situation! Can anyone give me some insight? At the moment I'm pulling around ?330-370 dps most of the time at i105 (without B4B. gotta get on that..) but I'm wondering if substituting Trick Attack for Sneak Attack will make a monumental difference?
Any advice would be wonderful ;o;
Pretty much on bosses you're going to use TA. SA is good on things that die really fast and the full benefit of 10% vulnerability couldn't be utilized well (like on most trash/solo stuff). The 10% vulnerability debuff really nice and is far better than SA as long as you can make use of it since it's party wide.Great info everybody !

So, probably the most accurate answer is this: If the enemy is going to survive the next 1,000 you-potency of attacks after TA/SA, use TA. How much is 1,000 you-potency? It's 10 times your uncombo'd Gust Slash or Aeolian. For my gear level, that's 10x210, or 2,100 damage. If the enemy will take more than 2,100 damage in the 10 seconds after TA/SA, I use TA. Since that's only 210 DPS. . .it's basically just a question of if they have that much HP left.In terms of suiton, I use Trick Attack for my opener. Welp. I don't come on the Official Forums much, I'm more of a Reddit guy.
However today I managed to record my near-record striking dummy parse, hitting 596.14 when I ran out of TP.
