How bout you ask people in game too? Forums barely scratch the surface of total players. And I mean everyone, not just friends and FC mates.

"Based on my experience with the people I associate with on a daily basis" read up. That includes real life + people I interact with on my server.
You do realize that even that number is a very small percentile of the actual player base, right?
The Cash Shop is not a pay to win site. They've stated that they will not add items to the shop that affect game progression, but merely vanity items. What you SHOULD be doing is thanking them for giving you a free version of the Eternal Bond System, instead of complaining you do not get platinum for free. They could've easily said lets do standard at $5.00, Gold $10.00 and platinum $20.00.
But as usual someone will ALWAYS complain about something....
I could see if they added Gold Saucer, new zones, every patch update, ilvl 155 weapons/armor/accessories to the Cash Shop, but vanity? I couldn't care less. It's like walking into Target, Wal-mart or the grocery store. If you like it, you will buy it. If you don't, you'll leave it at the store.
I think I might've gave you incentive to go stand out in front of the department stores boycotting them for charging people for their goods.![]()

Or standard at 300k gil, gold at 4m gil and platinum at 15m gil as an alternative. The Cash Shop is not a pay to win site. It's easier to charge real money than in game currency.
1) It's real money that they can use for other things.
2) Not everyone has the Gil to purchase any level.
3) Games are now targeting the casual gamers who don't have the time to farm dungeons for hours everyday. Or manipulate the market board and rake in millions of gil a day but have disposable real currency to get what they need or want.
Personally I support this thread and all others against the cash shop at this point. They stated that they would never add anything pay to win to the cash shop and while I know it wasn't their intention they have given players a legit way to buy gil from other players at the moment.
If buying gil is not pay to win then I don't know what is, gil allows you to do literally anything in this game, from buying wins/gear from wins to leveling/gearing up every job in the game faster. Prior to this patch the cash shop did not bother me because there was no pay to win crap in there but buying gil is where I draw the line.
To me this needs to be changed asap and SE needs to make some announcements regarding the future plans for the cash shop. Nothing bugs me more than a lack of transparency for a service I'm paying for and if this game is headed towards a direction that I consider pay to win I'd rather stop paying for it now and just wait until it goes free to play. Some people might not agree, but I've been supporting this game since 1.0 alpha and quite frankly I'm tired of the lack of transparency.
I didn't ask for answers.
You are not raising awareness, as everyone is AWARE of the cash shop and have their own opinions on it. As can be shown on ALL the other threads "Raising Awareness." Unless you mean raising awareness of your own condemnation. If that's the case, just post on one of the other threads.
