DoctorPepper said it best. Why would anyone logically think its good for the game to buy an item and sell it for gil in game? That gil can go towards buying coil runs or buying gear. It very well IS pay to win at this point.

Same reason people buy video games... They wanted their own experience and it was something that interested them, so they, like me, bought it.

As you know, the promise wristlets were designed to be tradable so that one person would be able to purchase a pair of wristlets and gift one to their partner.

While the trading and selling of these items for gil is not against the terms of service, in the event this type of trend continues and topics continue to arise regarding whether or not this is considered real-money trading, we will have no choice but to change the design of this system. Therefore we would like players to stop selling and trading the bracelets for gil so that they can continue to be used for their intended purpose.

Yeh when I heard about people selling them on the MB, I said that is RMT in it's own fashion. They (SE) should've never allowed that to happen.

Player buys platinum wedding package, posts it on MB for 20 million gil. That essentially is RMT.

TBH SE could shut down RMT, by adding gil to the Cash shop, but it would definitely inflate the already inflated MB more...

When are people gonna learn they never give straight answers always sum generic answer.I have my own idea of whats going on and im not liking the way the game seems to be heading.I pray im wrong cuz i love this game as i did XI which i played from start.Long time fan but im losing Faith in SE quick ^.-

This is true, coming from FFXI myself; They definitely have been known to have one of the worst customer support systems I've ever encountered.
