I didn't see anything on the eternal bond page about divorces or a one-per-person restriction or anything. Do they just let you do the ceremony as many times as you want, with whomever you want, and the server doesn't have any hardcoded limitations? Because that seems like the best and least restrictive way to handle the following use cases:

• People whose "eternal bonds" turn out to be not so eternal
• People who want to renew their vows with a more elaborate ceremony on a romantic anniversary
• People who want to have more than one bond, for RP reasons or otherwise

Did I miss something (like a big forum discussion), or is this how it works?

I did see it somewhere though not sure where. I thought it was on the site but it might have been in the letter sent with the wristlets or during the cutscenes. You can do it again Im pretty sure but you have to get the current wedding annulled, you cant be bonded to more than one person at a time.

I also think Yoshi said in a live letter in the past that getting divorced is as simple as dropping the rings, but that may have changed.

You must annul the previous bond before you can make a new one. 'Twas mentioned somewhere in the eternal bond page.

My question is: if you annul the bond, do you lose access to ALL the benefits, or just the teleportation (which I'm assuming is linked to the rings)?

Because if you get to keep the mount, clothes, minions, and etc, then you could in theory marry however many characters you wanted to, annul the marriage, and then tie the final knot with whoever you want to be able to teleport to in the long run. Useful if you have a friend who wants the clothes, but doesn't care much about the other benefits.

The only reason we got "gay marriage" is because if a couple were both a male and a female character, and the female character were to use a Fantasia to turn into a male, the in-game couple would still be bound together. Though it would still count as a marriage as the original couple were male and female, but then recently became a male and male couple. The data in-game would not be corrupted. It doesn't really have anything to do with appeasing the lesbian or gay community.
