Stupid question about macros (PS3)

Hey, I've finally started delving into macros. I get the gist of what they do and how to write them, but I keep running into one very fundamental problem. I don't know how to do a "return" or a line break. When I write the first line, I select line break on the PS3 keyboard and finish doing all the other lines, but when I hit start to finish writing the macro, it just leaves the first line in the text box. Am I doing something wrong when writing the macro?

No, when I select the text box, I hit Triangle to bring up the PS3 keyboard. Pressing line break right about Enter (Start button) moves it down a line in the keyboard window, but when I press Enter (start button), it just enters the information (which leaves me with only the first line of text I put in the keyboard window.

My guess is that you'll have to enter between each line break, hopefully someone else playing on PS3 sees this thread though and can verify.

Not a stupid question at all, as it is rather counter-intuitive. But the answer lies in only using the on-screen keyboard for one line at a time.
So:
1) Go to the text area of the macro window and use Triangle to bring up the on-screen keyboard.
2) Enter the first line of text you want
3) Press Start (identified as equivalent to "Enter" but really isn't in this case) so the on-screen keyboard closes leaving that first line of text in the macro window
4) Now, without the on-screen keyboard, but still in the text area of the macro window, press the X button. It will move you to the next line.
5) Press triangle to bring back the on-screen keyboard and to type in your second line of text
6) Repeat steps 3, 4, 5, as many times as needed.

Edit:
Incidentally, the PS4 version uses the same pattern, but is somewhat less confusing because its on-screen keyboard doesn't even claim to have an "Enter" or "Linefeed" button (both of which are shown on the PS3 version but don't work like their names indicate). The PS4's on-screen keyboard just has letters and other characters plus a "Done" button (R2).
