You already have a fairy doing the healing for you, you have plenty time for casting single target stoneskin

We don't want it for in combat - after all you can't use it in battle and succor is there - all thats being said is us Scholar's should also be able to press the one button to give people stone skin before the fight! Just like whm's can >.< It was a quality of life change after all.

Can't say I like the OP's tone or the way this was presented but I certainly don't see any reason not to give SCHs SS2.

But then again, I don't see why SS2 even has a 6 second cast time. SE logic.

I can understand why SCHs would want this since it is a QoL.

From a programming / design perspective, I get the impression that it was less time consuming / frustrating to just make a new skill that could only be used out of combat versus trying to find a way to give Stoneskin the ability to AoE while out of combat. Is it laziness? Perhaps. Given S-E's coding before with XI and now XIV and how many issues they have trying to deviate from the existing programing...

With that being said, do you really need to have Stoneskin for SCH to AoE in any dungeon / content where you WON'T have a WHM? Not really =D In fact, chances are you'll apply Stoneskin at the beginning of the dungeon then just kinda reapply it on the tank after every pull. Otherwise, it'll be a convenience after select trash pulls (Sastasha HM Lamias) or most bosses.

WHMs get Stoneskin AND Stoneskin II at 34, both cross classable.

Give Graniteskin II trait at the same level you get Graniteskin.

Problem solved.

What I was directing my original post towards is the desire for players to want an elaborate way to make Stoneskin AoE outside of combat so they can maintain only using one cross class, as has been discussed somewhere in the Healer's Forum.

I can't think of a single reason for WHMs to have SSII but not SCHs.

Because us WHMs are the owners of the original SS, it makes sense we get to have the "best" one.
That said, I'd gladly lend you my SS2 in exchange of your succor though. Theres no reason you would now have access to all 3 pre-engagement Aoe shields and not WHM, right ?

Following the OP's logic, 90% of the game can be cleared without a scholar too.

No, 90% of the content can be cleared without a WHM which means that 10% of the content can *only* be cleared with a WHM which means that 100% of the game can be cleared without a SCH.

Not sure I honestly understand the issue here Sulwyn? It can only be cast between fights, 5.75 seconds to cast, and only hits party members in the 15y radius. As a time saver it is great for groups of 8, and nice for groups of 4.
If Scholars and even Paladins wanted the same for the 10% SSII, I do not see why it could not be added. However I do not find it game breaking they did not do it.

As a SCH main I don't really mind not having Stoneskin II. WHM is already the "QoL" and easiest healer, so it kinda fits. Scholars don't need things made easy and boring.
