This isn't sacred soil. That being said, NPCs have access to skills that we don't have yet (the guy during the bard quest uses a new HP-over-time song). This is probably a channeled barrier spell we will see some time in the future.
Square, just give Sch Stoneskin II. The sole purpose of the spell was to relieve the annoyance of casting Stoneskin on everyone prior to battle. Sch (and maybe Pld) should share in this.

Thank you, I'm glad people still understand it's a simple as that, instead of coming up with silly unrelated arguments like "class identity" or "my healer class should be better than your healer class" just to defend and downplay SE's shortcoming.

This thread is dumb. No good Scholar is going to give up aero, swiftcast, cleric stance, protect , or stoneskin for an out of combat only aoe stoneskin. Make it available if you want but don't forget it's a level 50 spell.

lol yes even if SCHs can use SSII, there will be no free CC slot for it.
Why don't we just give everyone the skill and call it a day? Would that make everyone feel better?

I've got no problem letting SCH and PLD borrow my SS2. Or hell even anyone unclassed. If they can use SS, why not SS2 when it's literally a non-combat-only convenience version.
If you think Stoneskin 2 is anything special I've got news for you - it's just a time saver. That's it. If anyone wants to go to CNJ 50 just to save a few seconds before bosses in a dungeon, let 'em.
this thread is still going

Well, the crux of that is that conjurers have to be mindful of their actions. Healing AND DDing are a tricky dance and people lately take offense if all a conjurer does is heal or DD. Scholars are more able to do the dance because they can heal and DD at the same time thanks to the faerie. It's the faerie that does alot of the offset in healing disparity between Scholar and conjurer. Yes, conjurer has more area heals (like, what, 1-2 more?) but we can't heal from two different points on the field like a Scholar can, greatly increasing healing range or perhaps just flat out staying out of harm's way. Point being there's little difference in healing potential, but quite a bit in utility.
Grekumah, can SCH have untraited SSII also please?
