I have to admit, my thoughts about the whole thing is if you want wear female attire, then play a female character. I just get this vibe that the cross-dressing is more about making a statement towards gender equality than the game being more flexible with gender lock. In the real world, I am all for people being able to wear whatever the hell they want, so I can't figure out why I am so biased about it in-game. However, if the devs did remove the gender lock on gear, I wouldn't mind it at all. Some people will look hideous lol, but it's their choice.

This world isn't much different from the real world in the sense that desirable fashion, and fashionable options are heavily favored towards females. We still live in a world where guys are not supposed to be pretty, so please throw out any "it's 2016 arguments". Because of this, male attire remains more utilitarian than fashionable.

There is also the matter of aesthetics. Funny this comes up because it's making me think of the Weaver story line that I am currently on. I won't give any spoilers for those still getting through it, but those who know, know of a certain Lalafell who just has no clue. Point being that just because you can wear it, doesn't mean you should. So if this does ever change for us, I encourage the male characters to use female attire that complements their look.
