There's a fair few dungeons and, for a new player, a reasonable sense of progression through them gear-wise if you want to go that route. Most raids are also DF-able, with the exception of the most recent instance, which means you needn't be tied to a schedule in order to see the content.

I'd say the majority of raid content is puggable through DF alone. There are some exceptions; typically the final boss of each instance requires more knowledge of mechanics. Depending on your server, Party Finder can be a great tool for finding groups to practice with without needing a schedule.

Outside of that, crafting is apparently more engaging than in most games (you actually need a "rotation" and all the skills leveled to make the best quality items). Not for everyone, admittedly, but I know some people who really enjoy it.

There's also a long, ongoing quest chain to obtain your "relic" weapon. This is upgraded through each stage and will be something you work away at for quite some time!

I'd say there's enough content to make three months' sub worthwhile at least. Maybe pick up the game when it's in a sale and use the included 30 days to make a decision. There's absolutely casual content to keep you going for at least a wee while
