Do we get our money back if we got rejected?

So let's say I propose to Tataru. I show her my Platinum Bracelet and promise her a life full of botany and mining. She says no.

Can I get my money back for the bracelet then? It's how it works in real life too. You buy an engagement ring, ask the boy to marry you. If you get rejected you go back to the same shop to return your item.

Is that possibly why the bracelets are tradeable?! So the rejected souls can sell it back on 'market'??
