Final Fantasy touch to the game.

I'm thinking it would be really nice if they added cities from previous FF games to FF XIV.

Narshe (FFVI) would be a nice spot for miners and the Miners' Guild.

Figaro (FFVI)

Zanarkand (FFX) Not as futuristic as in FFX, more tailored to the game's themes. Would make a nice End game city

Alexandria (FFIX) Would be a nice black mage/Summoners spot.

Wutai (FFVII) for when Samurai and Ninja class get added. Could involve going there and completing quests in Wutai to unlock Samurai or Ninja.

Rabanastre a great central city (Juno type)

I could go on forever with these.... I think a FF mmo would be the best place to fit these cities and would give the world a wonderful touch of Final Fantasy and Nostalgia for all the FF fans.


Again on the same thoughts, they could also add NPCs from other FF games.

First..

Moogles! yes yes i know this game has Moogles but not nearly enough. I believe Moogles and Chocobos are FF trademark... We need as much as we can have!

Viera, Nu Mou and Bangaa. They could even become playable races later on.

Al Bhed. They could be part of a new crafting class in the game. Engineering or Machina Crafting!

Judges from the Ivalice world (FF tactics and FF XII) now that would be a really cool addition to the game. They could give them a really good spot in the world story or even have them play a role in some new aspect of the game.

Where's Cid? Biggs and Wedge?


Armors and Weapons from previous FF games.

Gunblade anyone? Now i can't decide what to do with this.... Would enable tanks to have a ranged attack and pull from afar and then use the blade in close combat. Would require some changes to game mechanics but could be added in future expansions.


The armor Judegs are wearing. Wouldn't that make a great armor for Paladins?

There is no end to the wonderful content available from the past FF games in the series. In future expansions or patches they could make a combination of these and new stuff to enhance the world and bring a more FF touch to it.

Anyone else feels the way i do? Oh and before i forget we need Bahamut!... like having him play a major part in the game.

After giving it a 2nd thought.... maybe not use these exact same cities... items... etc... but take some inspiration from them, or the general theme... when adding new cities/items etc...

Just like those 2 new armor sets Yoshi-p showed us, which takes inspiration from FF VI for the armor and FF IX (VIVI) for the black mage set....

I mean use the name and the actually city layout and design. Well modified to fit this game, the theme and all but pretty much the same city as in the game it is from. Of course the background story would be changed to fit FF XIV's story and all.

I would love this idea and im sure others would but the developers are to up their own butt to do this, as it will "ruin the lore and story" and all their wonderful ideas! etcetc.

How will adding cities/NPCs/items from previous FF games ruin the story and lore of the game? You did understand i said these would have to be modified/tailored to fit the current world right?

Also before someone starts saying they have no time while trying to fix the game's foundation. I did mention it as being part of future expansions and not in the next monthly patch.

No FF game has ever re-used towns from previous games except in cases of direct squeals. I dislike this idea not because I think it would contradict the lore, but because I think reusing towns from other games would cheapen the atmosphere of the world and make Eorzea feel less unique. If you ask me, I say FFXIV should be original and not reuse names or layouts from previous towns that were in other FF games.

Maybe if SE were to make a Kingdom Hearts MMO, then sure, they could use towns from from various FF games, but I don't think a conglomeration of towns from multiple games would really mesh well with the type of environment and world that Eorzea is supposed to be.

Each Final Fantasy games' shine comes from the fact that they have their own worlds they live in, lore that won't swamp the new player in tons of previous games.

Throwing in such blatant references as the city names, races, and the iconic weaponry from other games would cheapen both game and franchise.

I personally don't care about Eorzea. It is a bland, lifeless and boring world. And i believe that a FF MMO would be all about bringing the FF world, themes, items and even stories together. World of Warcraft is basically a sequel like to the warcraft games... using the town, characters and story from those games so why not FF too?

You really do enjoy Eorzea? Do you think it is even close to the worlds in previous FF games?

Square has used the Ivalice world in Final Fantasy tactics in other FF games. I personally, and that is my opinion only, would have enjoyed much more a Ivalice based mmo then this...
