Hiya!

So the last time I played a realm reborn was just over a year ago - I can't say i really had much of an idea what I was doing even then but now i feel even more clueless ehe ;

I've literally just finished my first dungeon ever (everever!!) ; ~ ;

I suppose I'm just looking for some pointers,
communication in the ps4 version isn't the easiest for me without a keyboard so I'm a lil lonely. at least I have my carbuncle tho' right!

Ummm...I'm aware of them, I haven't played around enough to find the perfect set-up though.
It's just knowing what I want there though, y'know? I'm well practised with FF but not with mmorpg's so I'm still getting ma bearings

Same I am faily new to it myself it took me a few months to find out some of the tricks

What I like though, is despite not really knowing what I'm doing, I can still enjoy myself & get by I'll get there

Or start a new char on Leviathan and bolster my FCs ranks lol =P thats some good advice right there if i do say so myself.

To be frank. Get a keyboard, any usb wire or wireless one will do. considering its an mmo being able to quickly communicate with ease is an absolute must.

But as for your situation. Make sure you keep up on the story line, all the story quests have special markers (so insted of the reg quest mark its one that looks like its kinda on fire.) thatll pretty much get ya through the areas and help ya learn everything unscathed.

Keyboard for chat is a must. But the rest the controller experience is great(and I hope other RPGs that get ported to consoles steal it). You don't need to target party members on screen just up/down on dpad to select them in the party list(X to confirm if you want to switch instead of "mouseover"), once you have aggro on mobs you can cycle through them with l1+up/down on dpad(X to confirm), you can go left right on dpad to cycle through targets on screen(and hit X to confirm your target) and you also have tab targeting with r2+l1 or l2+r1.

Beyond that I use vertical bars usually half full to show me CDs that are on the second crossbar - or that I want to see at a glance. There is more than a year old post with some very good ideas for controller users(like turn off auto sheathe weapons and have shared and non shared crossbars so you can have common things on shared and class/job specific actions on non-shared.
