Relic quest line over the top

I know people will disagree with this, but I'm getting sick and tired of how the Relic line feels like a must, and that you fall so horribly far behind if you god forbid want to main another job...

I'll start of by a question for the new Zodiac line first... Is it true that I have to level up a crafter(s?) to be able to finish it? I'm okay with the grind, but if that's true, that's just stupid... Otherwise it doesn't seem too bad...

I farmed up Novus for DRG pretty fast, had it in July I think, but then I decided to not farm for Nexus. My problem now is that I recently changed to maining BLM, which I only had Zenith on.

Why for the love of earth isn't there something to make it at least a little easier getting a second Relic geared up? I have to farm 24/7 for a while if I want to even be relevant in the next Zodiac line... Meanwhile I can get ilvl115 weapon by just beating Shiva a couple of times.

I thought the new relic would be 120, and that wouldn't be such a huge upgrade from the 115 weapons, and then I could maybe get the 120 Ironworks weapon by the time people start getting that weapon... But it's 125, and it feels like I'm forced to do the relic line now.

Again, I'm not saying the grind is too much on these relic lines, cause I think it's fine, but it should keep up a little more with how hard other gear in the game is to get.

Even a monkey can get the 110 weapon by just doing ST, but getting Novus still takes a long time, and a lot of money... Then another long grind to get something that's as good as the Shiva upgraded weapon (already have that after the patch today)

the worst part of the whole questline is the nexus grind, the new step looks way better

I figure next few patches/hotfixes/whatever we will see an increase of lights obtained from current duties. Most likely after the Tokyo Fanfest and the patch that will follow.

Shiva weapon going up to i115 now is probably because they just didn't want to devalue the nexus so soon which had only been i115 for about a month if you had finished it by the time 2.4 was released. So now that the relic has a new step that increases the relative strength of it they feel less awkward about upping the shiva weapon to the same level of nexus. Nexus still has the benefit of custom secondary stats over Shiva.

I'm more under the impression that the Shiva weapon upgrade is merely the upgrade to the Rowena Token i110 weapons. Since putting in work is always going to yield better results then face rolling a weapon, that is why the Relic is a better weapon. I really hope that it doesn't go beyond i125 for a decent amount of time into 3.0+.

I do hope they up the light yeah. As someone who runs multiple jobs and still leveling some it's hard to get light for my one and only novus. Since started I've gotten to slight activity without any dedicated farming - just doing the normal stuff I do usually.

Probably 135 by 2.5 part2 aka pre 3.0.

It took them how many months of people screeching like howler monkies to finally adjust atma drop rates? There is no way they are touching light until, at bare minimum, 3.0

It looks like you need 80,000 GC seals, 6400 Soldiery, 400k Gil, 8 crafted items and 16 drops from dungeons (credit to Skapoc for that info). The Gil isn't a problem, and my FC has a lot of good crafters, so they won't be an issue either. The drops seem to have a decent enough rate drop rate so it shouldn't be all that tough to get them. The only grindy parts are the 80,000 GC seals and all that Soldiery.

2 weeks if I'm farming 24/7 maybe...

4500 Sol for Animus
14 Alexandrite from dailies (assuming 2 weeks)
~270 Sol every day from doing roulette's = 3780 Sol for 2 weeks

That still leaves me 10 400 Allied Seals or 20 800 Sol = ~740 Seals/day or ~1 500 Sol/day and 320 Sol/day for Animus...

That's possible to do if I'm playing like a madman, but Hunt's are more rare now, I can't average that over 14 days...

If that was to get Nexus I would be fine I guess, but I then have to farm for that which takes forever...

I have a feeling I won't get the next Relic before everyone gets 130 Ironworks from the next CT or whatever...

I can't get ironworks weapons until 2.5's Crystal Tower, since I refuse to do coils and extremes and hardcore content.
