    Gender locked Eternal Bond outfits

Tailcoat of Eternal "xxx" Body Item Level: 1 / Equipment Level: 1 Fits: All ♂
Gown of Eternal "xxx" Body Item Level: 1 / Equipment Level: 1 Fits: All ♀
So they make a big deal about this not being a marriage system but a Eternal Bonding and skirting around the same gender/different races deal. Yet they come in and lock the items worn to genders.

I mean I know it's hard to tell Lala genders apart but damn think about everyone else!

Well, it's the same problem with the Bridesmaid's Gowns being bound to females, while the Best Man's gear is both genders. It was kind of an odd solution, though I was happy to be able to wear a suit as a female. I feel kind of bad for the male characters who would be quite happy flitting around in the Spring Dress or Bridesmaid's Gown.

It wouldn't be without precedence, seeing a gigantic Hyur Highlander with a shaved head and angry expression wearing Scylla's Gown of Healing gave me a flashback to a certain movie- I kept expecting to hear him say "It rubs the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again." A few people might understand where I'm coming from here, the rest will just think I'm crazy.

But... I seem to remember a highlander in a wedding dress in a side quests... spoilers suck so I won't say who... but I say let people be who they want to be.

Yes! Clothes should not be genderlocked! I want my male Roegadyn in a black summer halter!

I'm a male and have absolutely no desire to wear a dress. However, I really feel for the males that DO want to wear one, and find it unfair. Income the comments: "But there's not as much stigma on women wearing men's clothes, etc" - it doesn't matter, it's 2014 and we're getting equal rights when it comes to the actual marriage system - we're getting gay marriage implemented in the game (which had been debated for a while.) Now, it wouldn't hurt to go that step further and let male characters wear a dress now, would it? -face palm-

You'd think that they'd be able to fairly easily remove the gender restriction on them for that reason alone, but apparently not yet.

    Edit, rather than doublepost:

I very much agree. I think I'd be happier wearing the Tailcoats myself, as opposed to the super floofy wedding gown.

Who am I kidding, I want all the options for when the mood strikes me. I'd like it extended to everyone.

Funnily enough, I'm a woman and I have no desire to wear a wedding dress, either. When I saw that the Best Man set could be equipped by both genders, I thought for one fleeting moment that the actual wedding gear would follow a similar pattern... but nope, just suits for the men and dresses for the women and let gender roles be as they were in the early 1900s.

Then again, this is a company that decided that they couldn't call it "marriage" if gay marriage was allowed and found some alternate thing to call it, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised at any of this.

That was a special case with a special model. It's not at all "easy" to animate and model dresses for a gender that will statistically never wear them, and most of the people who do would, sadly, only do so to either be funny or to get a rise out of people.
Now the suit being gender locked...that's a bit silly. Maybe. Though the same reasoning exists.
