Who needs necromancers in game when we can be one is the forums.
I do agree that this is a good idea. The challenge log is pointless right now and I would love to have something cool to work for that takes time.

They did but gave weak items for it.
They should tie it to job in need no premade parties of any size solo queue only(I only queue with my hubby so this wouldn't work for us but many others), and the reward being a Cash shop token.
25 token = $1 on cash shop.
I think this would be a much bigger insentive for people to play the job in need post getting level cap and beyond.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!

Good thread is still good.

For me personally I believe that cash shop items should still release in game once the novelty wears off. We should be able to get undyed versions or just similar models. I really do like your idea of currencies to purchase items but it will honestly never happen. If you look at the stuff that's posted here daily there are too many posts saying players will pay x for x item and SE thinks it is fine to keep the prices high with thousands of unsatisfied players such as myself. It's sad that SE will keep on listening to the whales but I will keep on trying to protest even if it only results in failure.
Personally, for the Eastern stuff I would put them in questlines related to Kugane with fun lore but nope it will never happen. But we did get Ao Dai on the marketboard which was rather amazing. I'd like to see more Eastern designs such as it.
EDIT: holy cheese I just now realized this thread was a necro'd one. Though I guess still relevant to what's happening now?
I'm personally against this idea. It's well thought out, and I commend you for thinking the suggestion through. This post is in no way meant to bring you down.
My problem with the cash shop isn't that I can't afford it or the items. I can. It's the principle behind how much SE values these items compared to the game itself. I don't care if other games do it or not: a skin for a character should not cost more than the sub I pay to access the game with my character in it. Event items and mounts are priced fine and I don't mind paying for those. $2.00 emotes? Fine. $12.00 emotes? No thank you, I'd rather that go towards the sub itself. If more items in the shop were priced more closely to past event items, then I would personally be A-okay with the MogStation as it is now.
There's also no need to throw yet another currency into a game that already has several to keep track of. To me it would just incentivize Square Enix to keep the prices as they are or raise them in the future now that they have another excuse to justify it ("you CAN earn it in game now, ya know"). I mean...you basically just tried to sell me on most other F2P games currently on the market and what they do. Which I find odd considering so many folks on these forums are super anti F2P model.
Please no(To the bolded), that is a terrible idea. They need to let us use some of this useless in-game currency called Gil to pay our subs and whatever items in the cash shop they decide to release. Honestly, with the current rate things are going pretty much all well-designed glamours will be gated by cash shop. With Metallic dyes hitting cash shop its safe to say even those who play the game to dress their character up will be getting locked out of a lot of content unless they swipe their card every minor update.
I may agree with being able to purchase premium items with gil, but paying for sub's is a terrible idea that could easily break the game.
Also, how is gil worthless?
I feel less items should be untradeable and / or market prohibited, but the majority of players seems to use gil quite often.
